How's everyone's 2/29 going? How was your weekend?

Saturday we took the truck to the body shop to begin its long repair journey. The plow driver's insurance company is being dopes--they wanted to replace our truck with a compact car! Instead DH is driving a Dodge Ram 1500, and we may have to eat the difference if we can't sort it out with them. 

We had parent observation day Saturday at S's Irish step dance lesson. She's not bad, considering she's only been at it for 2 months. She's going to walk in a St Patrick's Day parade with her dance school. 

Sunday we moved the furniture over from our old guest suite to our new guest room. It looks fantastic. Just in time for MIL to come visit next weekend. We also picked out an ice cream cake for S's birthday on Thursday, and ordered the cake for her party. We let her pick both, it was fun

It was my first day back at work! I survived! Lol.

Honestly, it wasn't so bad. I spent most of my free time catching up with my friends.

I'm glad it went well. My first day back the daycare kept urging me to call them if I needed to. I did it just so they wouldn't judge me, LOL

Hahaha!  My mom has him this week and I haven't needed to call her and I probably won't call daycare next week.  I'm so busy with my students I tend not to think about it.

drloretta, happy birthday to S!

We've had a rough few days, as my grandfather passed away last week. He was 94, and he'd been ill for a while, so we knew it was coming, but it's still been pretty difficult. The services were Monday and yesterday, but I took today off as well, since I was driving back and forth to western MA both days and since our family dynamics are ... troubled, to put it lightly. I'm so glad I did, because I am really spent. My husband got up with Ben this morning so I could sleep in, and we're about to go get groceries and scope out car seats. Pretty exciting stuff.
