Hi ladies--I'm usually a lurker, but am now seeking your sage fashion advice.
I'm attending a conference in May in Disney World. The dress code is listed as business casual, but living up north, I feel as though the layers of sweaters and cardigans won't work for this.
I spend a lot of time on my feet at conferences so I bring two pairs of comfortable shoes. That way I can alternate shoes. Like others mentioned, the A/C is cranked so you want those layers to adjust your temperature. In addition to a cardigan and a jacket, I will bring a couple of silk scarves. I spend a a lot of time talking at conferences so I will wrap a long scarf around by throat to protect my throat and add a layer of warmth. Silk scarfs don't take a lot of room in the suitcase and can add a touch of color to an outfit.
I generally wear 2 types of "uniforms" at work conferences. 1) Shift dress with a cardigan (easy to remove cardigan if I'm to warm and still look professional) and 2) Pencil skirt with either sleeveless blouse and cardi or a thin silk 3/4 length top.

what everyone else said - but I also learned quickly that heels are not my friend at conferences - it always seems like the convention centers are miles and miles long and I'm walking a lot. definitely comfortable flats or wedges.
