But my SO does not. They were a gift from my moms, and I picked them out on a whim while shopping with my mom. They are gray parsons chairs from IKEA. SO doesn't like them because they don't 'look like dining rooms chairs' aka they are not all wood. Fortunately, we have a deal that I'm in charge of inside decorating and he's in charge of the yard.

WTF with dining chairs having to be wood? I like them (and have brown leather parsons chairs) but I agree with Steph that I don't like them with the wicker chairs. Sorry.
The wicker chair are old and will get traded out eventually as money permits. I do want different chairs for the table ends, but right now it's not in the budget.

Do you need to have 6 chairs? If so, what about doing a bench on one side? Ana White has plans that can be MM options.

Yeah, we need 6 chairs (3 SSs). But I'm not crazy about the bench idea. Teenage boys tend to get into trouble without defined boundaries.
I like them! They're very nice. I have never heard of a wood chair rule for the dining room (though, I'm not super with it when it comes to decorating).
Are those covers removable? How easy are they to wash? I'd love fabric next time around but I worry about them getting dirty/stained/covered in dog hair that permanently weaves itself into every surface.

They are super easy to remove, but I haven't washed them yet, so I don't know if they pill or anything.

When you do wash them, be sure to turn them inside out before you put them in your machine. It will lessen the possibility of pilling.

We have these same chairs and covers. I've washed them twice so far, and they look great -- no pilling that I've noticed, and all the spots from food and drinks that DD dropped came right out.
