This will be our first time at either restaurant, and our first time to Epcot with the kids. We are leaving very soon.
We are set to have lunch at Akershus on our second day, and a late breakfast (after BBB) at CRT on our fourth/last full day. I am definitely keeping the CRT reservation but debating whether Akershus is also worth keeping. My girls love princesses (and this may be our last chance before my 8 y.o. gives them up), but is it overkill to do both? Is our time at Epcot better spent elsewhere? We would pack a lunch if we cancelled the reservation so skipping it would give us an extra hour or so to explore World Showcase before naptime.
I think both is overkill - but we did akershus pre rope drop, too and it was fabulous. I would prefer not to have it cut into park time twice like that.

We've done both before, but on seperate trips (trips were 6 months apart). My girls loved the princesses, and I wouldn't hesitate to eat at both restaurants during the same trip when we go again.
Do you have other character dinners? We did both when we were there--but over did it on character meals in general as by the time we did Crystal Palace on our final day the kids ate and saw one character and were ready to leave.
If those were my only character meals, I wouldn't hesitate to do both again. CRT was a pre-rope drop breakfast and Akershus was for dinner. I actually might have liked Akershus better (too close to call!). The food was great, and they did a princess/prince parade around the restaurant.
We did both our past two trips. Character interaction at CRT is much better IMO but the food is not very good. Akershus was great the first time and the second time it was barely edible. Character interaction was only okay both times. However, they do have alcohol.
Me too! I really want to do one of them, definitely not both due to cost, but I can't decide.
I will only keep both if we do the dining plan. I just don't want it to lose its appeal if we are constantly doing character meals.
When you make your reservations do you have to put your kid under 3 in the party size? H will only be 15 months so he will be free and hopefully in a high chair (I have no clue if they do those?), but I didn't know if I needed to count him in reservations.

Yes you need to include him in all ADRs. In addition to table size for fire code purposes. Babies still count as an occupant. Yes they have high chairs.
