We're heading to Universal next week with my almost 9 month old. Is there any rides I can take him on or shows he might like? Is it best for us to rent a stroller there or just use our maclaren from home? My husband has a conference on site so we won't be doing Disney this time around.
My mom and sister will be up for 2 days to help watch him and baby swap for the rides but for the most part it will be just DH or myself solo. We've done UO before but with a baby now it will be a whole new kind of vacation!

There isn't a ton at Universal that I think you can bring a baby on. You might be able to do the shrek 4D show and sit in a stationary seat? I don't know if they will let you bring a baby on the carousel in Suessland. There are a lot of cool things to walk around and look at though. I don't know what the stroller rental is like at Universal, so i would bring your maclaren.
We took DD1 at 18 months and she didn't do a single ride there. We were with other adults so did a lot of swapping. It worked great. For the long line at the Hogwarts ride, the swap waiting area was where you got on so she was able to stay in line with us.
I would bring your stroller. We rent in Orlando but only bc we don't have a double and it's the only place we ever need one.
I went last summer with a 9 month old and a 3 1/2 year old. We did both Universal and Islands of Adventure. I can't remember which attraction was in which park, but overall my 9 month old hung out in the stroller. She did great! She honestly didn't care about anything we saw or did, and we didn't take her on anything. The best part for her was Barney, because there was an indoor play area she could crawl around and touch things, and the show was cute, but again, the 9 month old didn't care.
I didn't think the rental strollers were good for such a little one. We rented one for my older DD to rest from walking, but the little one needed to recline and better shade and comfort for naps and spending a long time in the stroller.
There really are not any rides that come to mind, we went in May, but Jurassic Park has a kids only area and there is honestly so much that you can just walk around and look at between Seuss Land and Toon Town.
