I don't think I've ever posted on here before (I'm not at all stylish) but I need help: my assistant is getting married on Saturday.
5:30 wedding. I'm 45, on the chubby side, and professional/in a fairly conservative industry. I wear suits to work a lot of the time. The wedding is at a refurbished factory/"cool" event space with a lot of wood and metal and an industrial feel. Oh, and I live in the south and it was 85 degrees today.
I can't remember the last time I went to an evening wedding. And I don't have a clue what to wear. And we get to sit with my boss and his wife, as well as with a couple of clients.
So far, I have: a dress that's a bit more fitted/low cut than I really like, I would add a light cardigan/shrug over the top. The dress has a geometric pattern that's blue/green/black.
I also have a black linen/shimmery skirt that's a bit above the knee and fits nicely. The skirt is deliberately wrinkled/crushed and has silver threads running through it.
Should I just go with the dress? If so, what do I do with the "hello, these are my boobs" factor? Or should I get some sort of top to go with the skirt? (If so, what?) or should I buy something else? If so, what am I looking for?
The skirt sounds cute but I'd love to see a picture. I would probably pair with a black top, maybe with a peplum which I think flatters pretty much everyone.
Look for a fit and flare shape dress with a round neck. That is a flattering shape for most body types and you won't have to worry about your boobs with a round neck. I recommend you check out Steinmart.
