We'll be there during Food and Wine. I'm seriously thinking about running the half, which they moved from night to morning. What do I need to know about it. We're staying at A of A and I'm thinking about getting a babysitter for HM night (Sunday) so DH and I can go out and have fun. But, what exactly is it? What does it mean for our trip? Our eating? I need basics, because besides the runs that weekend, I' can't find a lot of info.

F&W Fest is at Epcot. There are a ton of booths set up all around the park that each have a location theme and serve small plates of food and beer, wine and other bevs from that place. You basically walk around and try food/beverages from these booths. There are also demonstrations, classes, etc., that you can sign up for. We typically allocate about $100 per adult/day during F&W. Food ranges from $3ish to $9ish and beverages about the same. You can check out each country's menu (2015) here-http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2015-epcot-food-and-wine-festival/. 2016 has yet to be posted.
Are there still Openings? I don't know when they started selling the race but they sell out fast. That's all I know about the races.
Registration opens March 29. I"m going to register (assuming I can get a spot) and I'll give it away if I change my mind.
Thanks for the info!
Bibs are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Once you've bought, the only way to *not* run without eating the registration cost is to defer and run it the following year.
I didn't realize you were going when we were going! DH might run the 5k. I'm going to have the kids run too. I am lazy and don't run lol
I was thinking about having the kids run too....I thought we talked dates and didn't overlap. NOW WE ARE CLEARLY going to find time to get together and play soon!!!

ETA: Nov 3-8
We are the 28th-5th at BLT and then the 5th through probably the 9th at AoA.
Will they still have the after party at night? If so, DEFINITELY get a sitter and go! My sis ran the half in 2014 and I went to the party with her (we stayed at beach club villas so I cheered her on at mile 12 then walked into Epcot).
During the party, all of the food booths are open, lots of rides are open, some restaurants are open, and lots of characters are out. We had a great time with Aladdin, jasmine, and Abu!

Yes, I read they're still doing the after party at night. They're just racing earlier in the day to allow the racers time to rest.
The big change is that the party is on Sunday night instead of Saturday, so it extends the weekend into Monday if you stick around. The runDisney groups on Facebook basically all melted down simultaneously yesterday.

Oh maybe that's what I read. I skimmed that news because I will never be in a rundisney event in my life. Lol
Well, the race moved too, to Sunday morning from Saturday night. And they added a 10k and a challenge. And moved the 5k. And added kids' races. Basically, they changed everything but the theme. I've done it W&D twice, but taking a pass this year to do Space Coast later in the month and then go on a Disney cruise. Which will, crazily enough, end up being about the same cost as if I did a weekend at WDW for W&D.
