Package vs booking room/tix separately

Is there a benefit/difference if I book my hotel and tickets together, or book my hotel and buy my tickets later?

I'm a FL resident, not sure if it matters. I usually buy my tix at my local Disney store.

You can get slightly better rates on tickets through Undercover Tourist.

I also believe it's easier to apply the 15/30% off room rate codes to room only reservations ( instead of free dining)
