I miss Arizona where they don't change. And when I first moved to Indiana, we didn't change there either (but that law was changed while I as there and they left it up to the county which makes it even more stupid).

Confession: I'm not mad about DST because I've been waking up lately and having a mini panic episode because I'm used to waking up in the dark-then I realize it's only 6 and I'm still good.

And I live in AZ and I do love not having to worry about this nonsense, but we do have to remember when everyone else changes, and sometimes I can't remember if they are adding or subtracting an hour.....

My mom just relies on me telling her that we will be 3 hours apart now. LOL.
Well he didn't exactly invent it, but he did write a satire piece suggesting it as a way to save candles, so the idea of dst and conservation was sort of his. Obviously it wasn't used until much later.

I live in a state that does this and I can't remember most of time what we are suppose to do. fall forward or fall back? Spring forward or hop back? Shrug. I let my phone tell me in the morning.
I know DST was really about farmers, but after taking 2 walking tours of Philly, you could now tell me Ben Franklin created pretty much anything, and I'd believe it. The man did a lot, okay?

I was unaware of this satirical piece...now I must seek it out.
1916, that's when DST started in case people are unaware. (Hint hint)

If I'm remembering correctly, it was written during his time in France, and written anonymously (just in case that helps you track it down).

Jalapeñomel ok I think I'm right then. I've been trying to avoid Google, but the link in my brain is to war but people seemed very confident about farmers LOL.
It's to save energy - give people the time to do the chores, dinner, etc during the later daytime hours when awake rather than the morning when asleep. Thanks Fourth Grade Teachers
I choose SS because none of the options are completely correct. Germany was the first country to introduce DST in order to conserve energy during the war. But, some areas in Canada were using it a number of years earlier.
Sorry, I should've said for the US. I have zero knowledge of Canadian history, and my knowledge of US history is spotty at best. Lol
