I am embarrassed to admit the extent of my confusion when it comes to FastPass+. Can you guys help me with these few questions? We will be there mid-June for 7 nights.
1. How does it work with 2 adults and one toddler with the child swap? The way I understand it, I can book myself for Space Mountain and get a child swap, which allows H to ride the ride later (when?) but he doesn't need a FP. So I should book him on another ride DD can't ride presumably, allowing us each to use 1 FP and ride some adult rides. But where I get confused then is H and I then have 2 remaining FP each and DD has 3, right? So if we want to FP the bigger attractions it means that H and I will have to go alone with DD on one of her rides? Am I understanding that correctly?
2. What happens if DD has a meltdown and we need to leave the park or she decides she won't ride a ride? Does that mean we can't get a 4th FP later bc one was unused? If she gets into a line but won't ride, can they scan her MagicBand so we can get another FP later?
3. How difficult is it to get Anna and Elsa? Should I try for our departure day when we have a pre-rope drop at CP? Or should we go directly to Anna and Elsa after breakfast?
4. Are there any other must-do toddler-type FP rides? H and I will want to ride some of the stuff she's too small for, so I'm not sure how to prioritize.
5. Is there suspicion that Frozen will be open mid-June and will it likely be FP+?
I'm sure I have a million more questions, so thanks for your help. H and I are going away on vacation soon and returning just in time to close on a house, move, and book these fast passes. I think I have too much going on at one time and I can't focus like I want to.
I've only been to Disneyland back when my DD was 1.5 so she didn't have her own ticket for anything. But your description in 1 is how we did big rides once we figured out we both didn't need to have a FP.
shevacc, ok you just helped me immensely! I didn't realize I don't need to book FP for DD! That makes the answer to my first question much easier. Thank you!

When we did rider swap the ticket was good for three or four days. You could come back as long as it was before the expiration date on the ticket. This is a great way to maximize your options.
Peter Pan is a popular ride without height restrictions.
Not sure what they do if you are in line and you kid flips out. I suppose it could depend how far you made it through.
I would book a FP for A&E. I would also book it on a day later in your trip if possible. You can check out availability on The Dibb.
