I am so bummed about not having a vacation booked that I almost just offered FULL ASKING PRICE on ANOTHER DVC Contract.
It's the Wilderness Lodge one through dvcmagicresale. I mean they are paying this years fee and a credit for next year and closing costs. I mean we could afford it, but I would have to pull the DP from savings.

H would kill me so I stopped myself. Grrrrr....
Come see me in September!
I mean the soonest I see myself getting back is in 18 months. In reality it will probably be like 23 months- 2 years. OMG I cannot survive. I am trying to talk H into letting me go on a SOLO Disney Cruise next Summer. Just a 3 day, probably out of NYC. I just want to get a cruise under my belt as I have never been, and it seems to be a requirement for most travel agencies.
I read the recent EasyWDW updates and I seriously hope they staff to capacity starting at Memorial Day. I would be so mad if I booked for a low crowd time right now and still had long lines.
Soooo, when are they going to abandon ship and realize their customers don't want to pay for a bunch of extra shit
This still doesn't appeal to me at all (luckily!).
I saw the photos of the morning event today and it was so empty it looked boring to me. I wouldn't want to ride an empty Rollercoaster five times. Am I weird?

You guys are making me want to book a disney trip next year. My H already told me that the next time we go, no character meals, because they are too stressful. LOL
If your options were: 1. AKL, savannah view club level, no park hoppers - $2700 2. POR or CSR, standard, dining plan, park hoppers - $2870 3. POP, standard, dining plan (upgraded from QS), park hoppers - $2424

What would you pick?
Either 1 or 2, but I think I would lean closer to 2 because AKL is so far from MK and my youngish kids (2, 5, 7) prefer MK and the bus ride puts me off.

A few things I'd need to know before rendering an opinion: length of stay, how much time spent at resort, goal for the trip (relaxing time away or maximizing time in parks), when would I go back next?
Check your email! I just got a PIN code this morning.
I did too That's what is bumping the club level option so darn low.. I'm shocked it's actually affordable. I'm just not sure if it's worth giving up the dining plan, though the Savannah view and club level food options do sound appealing.

Sept 2 - 8th, we'd fly in Th night but stay at the airport hotel since the flight arrives so late. Then take magical express and check in the next day. Last time we were there, we hit the parks up at RD since my kids are wide awake at 6:30 anyway, then came back to the hotel around lunch for a nap or swimming (or both), then back to the park in the evening for dinner. We were typically back to the resort for the night by 8pm at the latest.
We'd likely skip 2017 (since I'd hopefully be pregnant possibly??) so 2018 or 2019 for the next trip.

Are you going to do a lot of character meals? If so, he DP might be better.
If we get the DP, yes. If we don't do the DP, we would probably do two - Akershus for the princesses and one mickey/minnie.

2
We've stayed club level at AKL twice pre kids. Now having gone with my kids multiple time, I know they'd prefer character meals to the snack offerings in the club level longe.
Can you get a standard view regular room at AKL with the dining plan for close to those prices? AKL (while far) is so much fun with kids!

I'd probably do option 2 with that information, but only get the dining plan if I'd priced it out and made sure that I would get my money's worth.

DP is free
I'm not a huge DP fan (regardless if it's free or not) because I'm not a huge TS meal eater at amusement parks. I found a spreadsheet a few years back that helped you figure out whether the free dining was more cost effective than a room-only discount with paying OOP for dining (different than distripplanner).
Ultimately, it depends on where you plan to eat. If you'll utilize the TS credits to mimimize your additional OOP expenses.
This new option is definitely the most budget-friendly.
We recently did a trip with kids without Park Hoppers, and I'm glad we didn't waste the money on them. Every park has so much to do, and the kids aren't really up to hopping anyway.
I hate being so "stuck" in a park. Like, what if we get there at 8am and don't want to spend the entire day there? This is a ridiculous worry, I am aware.
