We were watching "America's Got Talent" and the judges had been in an elevator that got stuck so they were late to the auditions, and Howard Stern made a comment about how "it's an epidemic in New York City" about faulty elevators.
Is it true? Should I not take elevators when visiting NYC? I have gotten stuck in one before and it was NOT a pleasant experience as I was in there for over an hour by myself. It's not that common down here, though. I am wondering if Stern was right in saying that it seems to happen a lot up there.
I bet a lot of people use it as an excuse as well.. making it seem even more common.
That could be. My rule is to never use an excuse that I wouldn't want to happen to me (like someone dying, etc), so this is off my official list of excuses. lol

hah, could be. After my incident of being stuck, I usually only take elevators if I do not know where the stairwell or escalators are and if it is less than 3 flights. I don't even take the elevator at work if I am only going up or down one flight, it's just not worth the risk of getting stuck! hah Oh, and there have been 3 different people that I know of who have gotten stuck in our work building elevators. I don't trust them, especially since it seems like they are being serviced by repairmen more often than I wash my car!
