Love being an aunt! My favorite thing is just getting To spend time with them and to know them as people. It's a special relationship...I'm an adult in their life but not a parent or a teacher. Kind of a cross between parent and friend.

Congratulations!!
I am indeed an aunt! We have three nieces and two nephews and they are awesome.
I think those two sisters are done and my stepsister will not be having kids, but H has two younger sisters, one of whom we know for sure wants kids, so we anticipate more to come!

Congrats! Being an aunt is the best! I have an almost 7 year old niece, who is my whole world. The best part about it is just being with a sweet funny little human that adores me as much as I adore her. When I walk in the door she always screams "Auntie _____!" and runs to me to hug me. I wouldn't trade that for the world. I also love to spoil her rotten- I shop for her constantly. Even when there is no reason to buy her anything, if I'm at the mall, I go into Justice, The Children's Place, Gymboree looking for stuff for her. Christmas is crazy (2 years ago she had 20 presents from just DH and me, and a stocking), I always make her an Easter basket, and since we host Easter, I also do an egg hunt for her and hide other gifts that don't fit in the basket. I love to see her face when she opens presents because she is always thrilled and excited about it (plus, my sister is a single mom, so I buy a lot of clothes for her to help my sister out).

I have two nephews and four nieces. I love them to pieces. I am the only Aunt or Uncle with a nickname. The kids call me Auntie D. I spoil them rotten. My favorite thing is taking them places like the zoo or the science center. A recently took my older niece and nephew on vacation with me. : )
Being an aunt is the best! I have one nephew and at every stage of his life, I wish he could stay right there. But the next stage comes and it's so great! He'll be 6 next month and he's a little person now, who will talk your ear off with all his opinions.
I do blame him for moving me from the never-ever-ever-in-a-million-years-will-I- have-a-kid camp, to OMG give me one now!!!
Congrats auntie!! I have 4 nieces and 4 nephews. The best part is when they first start walking and talking and run toward you when they see you yelling your name the best they can- in my case is usually 'essca' and then start excitedly talking gibberish. Haha. Or, when they're older, taking them to do something fun for their birthdays and returning them back late and hopped up on sugar.
eta- I should add that I am a bad aunt and I have favorites and this doesn't include h's nieces. I'm not as into them.

Aw congrats! I have 4 nephews and 2 nieces. My oldest nephew was born 2 mos before DD and they are besties. My oldest niece is a year younger than my DS and I babysat her for a few years, she looks LikeDD and I spoil her so much.
I love watching them grow and develop their little personality. They're just a ton of fun. My youngest niece is 3 and loves to FaceTime so she can see my kitties lol.
I am an aunt. My favorite thing is talking to my nephew. He is really young, so he's pretty blunt, which I appreciate. He has a sweetness that only kids have. He likes to dance like no one is watching. And, he seems to like me. He says my name in a funny way that melts my heart. If I wasn't afraid of seriously screwing a kid up, I would secretly clone him. (I realize that this wouldn't work, I'm just sayin'.)
I was not much of a baby person either, but four years ago, my brother had a little boy and I helped my SIL in the first week after his birth.
At around three weeks, he opened his eyes and "looked" into mine and I felt like an electrical buzz between us. Instant love!
When his little brother was born two years later, it was the same. I love them with my entire being and feel like they are mine a little bit. When Arthur calls me and asks me to bring him a Kinder chocolate egg (I always bring him one), I have to resist the urge to drive over there immediately.

I LOVE being an aunt! The best part is when they give you a nickname!
My nieces are getting older and started calling me by my first name and it sounded weird. I imagine it's like when a child calls their parent by their first name. I asked them to continue calling me by the nickname they gave me, LOL!
So precious! I've been an aunt since I was 17 (my sister is quite a bit older than me) and he's going to be 17 this year! It goes by so fast and it's so fun to watch them grow and see their personalities.
The first baby I ever felt a real attachment to was my BFF's, and there has really only been one more, other than mine. I'll likely never get to be a true aunt as my bro can't have kids (although they told my dad the same thing...), but at least with my BFF, it's pretty darn close. So much fun to spoil them!
My sister had a baby 4 months ago and being an aunt has the best thing ever! I'm completely over the moon in love with my sweet little niece. Now that she's starting to smile and giggle it just melts my heart. I can't wait for her to really know me and spend time quality with her. It's my secret mission to be her favorite aunt But jokes aside, I didn't grow up with a lot of extended family around, so it's important for me to give her the love and support I didn't really have.
I have 1 nephew and 3 nieces on my husband's side, and even though I care for them, the connection is just so much stronger now that it's my sister who made me an aunt.
I have a niece and 4 nephews. The second to youngest is 3 and I swear always has a new name for me. Lately it's been Annie. And even though my h isn't a huge kid person at all, 3 year old always asks about him and is very concerned about everything with him. Lol. My mom made homemade ice cream one time for me. Nephew and I obviously had to taste test it. Like two months later when I saw him again he asked if Uncle xx liked the ice cream and if I shared like you're supposed to do.
I didn't really want kids until I became an aunt. I remember when my nephew was born and thinking he was the most beautiful baby I'd ever seen. He was.
My niece and nephew are the coolest. They love to play, eat candy and cupcakes with me, and ignore my sister.
I can't wait to have my own so they can all play together. Cousins!
I am an auntie to 4 nephews and 3 nieces. The best part is watching them grow to be their own little personalities.
I want to speed up time to see what kind of little person he becomes but I also want him to stay tiny forever! :-)
I love how you put this. It's exactly how I feel about my son. I love him being a baby right now but I am so excited to be able to talk to him and have conversations.
I am not an aunt. :-(
My brother will never have kids and my boyfriend's brother might? He is single and likes to play the field but I'm really hoping he has a kid. Otherwise my kid will be the only one, with no cousins. I'd love to be an aunt, and I want to see the cousins running around together! My cousins were and are a big part of my life.
I became an Aunt for the first time on Jan. 30th. It's nice for the two times that I've seen my nephew. He's the first child for my BIL and his wife and they are ridiculously over-protective of him. They don't want anyone near them if there's even a hint of a cough or sneeze. The kid is 6 weeks old and I've held him once.....we live one exit down on the hwy. They have turned into hermits and don't ever want guests over in case someone brings in an illness. I have two kids of my own, I get the need to protect their child from catching a cold, RSV, whooping cough...the flu but they are going a little crazy over it. I don't even feel like I'm an Aunt to be honest.
