I'm wrapping up The Portable Dorothy Parker after a break in the middle of it. I've been loving it since my break; I must have just not been in the right mood before.
I finished The Giver by Lois Lowry earlier this week. I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely read the 2nd and 3rd books, although I'm disappointed they won't be a continuation of this book with the same main characters.
I picked up The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch last night. So far it's good and well written.
I need to start Hunger Games this weekend because DH really wants to watch the movie. Should I buy the three book set for Nook? I'm just concerned I won't buy into the hype and like it. Thoughts?

I finished up the new Michelle Moran, The Second Empress last night. It was good, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. I liked Madame Tussaud and the Egyptian books better, but it was still a decent read.
I started Crossed, the second book in the Matched series, yesterday. It's ok. I prefer the Ky parts to the Cassia parts, though.

I would say just get the set since each book leads right into the next and you'll probably want to know what happens next. Check the price though I know on the kindle they are the same price buying seperate or the set.
I finished up Anna Dressed in Blood this week which was better then I thought it would be. Now I've started in on The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I've been meaning to read these for years! Pretty good so far:)

Good point, and they should be relatively quick reads. I'll probably buy it.

I had a very slight gap between books 1 and 2, but I don't think I even took an hour break between 2-3. Honestly, the first time I read the series I found a number of things annoying, but these were some of the hardest books to put down that I have ever read. Second only to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Yeah! If you ever want to discuss please let me know - my favorite "book" (since he wrote it as one) ever.
I am reading the third book in the Mistborn trilogy by Brian Sanderson. It's OK, but I do find myself thinking a lot about what I'm going to read when I finish.
Roughing It by Mark Twain. It's made me laugh out loud a lot and I am loving his perspective on the west. I am a huge fan of both westerns and Mark Twain so this is right up my alley. Every time I read something by him, I am surprised at how timeless he is.
Nothing right now. I finished 2 books this week (Wanderlove, and Home to Woefield- liked them both). We leave for vacation on Monday, so I am sort of waiting until then to start another one. I have one actual book to bring with, plus 2-3 on the Nook. I hope that's enough!
I just finished Night Road by Kristin Hannah (and OMG I need to make a separate thread about this) yesterday afternoon.
I sobbed through that whole damn book. Happy tears, sad tears just all of the tears
Ha, same here. I read part of it while in the Starbucks at B&N and was at the brink of ugly crying. I've never been so thankful for a nearly empty store before. This is definitely not a book to read in public!
