AK is DD's second favorite park. She loves the Safari, Lion King show, and playing in the Boneyard. She loves Epcot, too, though. Honestly I'd get park hoppers. No way can you spend all day at Hollywood Studios right now. We can do the whole park in 2 hours. I'd do the morning at HS and then take a boat over to Epcot and spend the afternoon there.
Your kids might love doing the passport thing at Epcot. Frozen ride after May. The aquarium is nice. But to me the rides are weak. (Although I know other ppl like them).
AK has the safari, the rapids ride, Everest, dinosaur ride. Are your kids into "exciting" rides?
AK is a half day to me. Or like done by 3. Which can be nice too if you want to get some extra resort time in.
In our family Epcot; going there is as important as the magic kingdom.
I would consider hoppers though, maybe you can do the morning in the studios & the evening in Epcot? Then still do ak? We like ak better than the studios right now, but we don't have Star Wars people.
We weren't going to buy hoppers, because people had cautioned against it in June heat with littles. But we can add them there if needed right? I'm buying tickets today.

I agree with the suggestion to get park hoppers. It depends on what kind of attractions you're into, but AK and HS are both half-day parks for us. Not even half a day, really.... we're usually done in 2-3 hours, but my kid doesn't enjoy thrill rides or most of the stage shows, so there are only 2-3 things in each park for us to do.
We have a 5 year old. We usually go to one park in the morning, go back to the hotel to rest and swim in the middle of the day, and then head back into the parks in the late afternoon for a few more rides, dinner, and sometimes a parade or nighttime show.

I've always loved Epcot!
Ditto others that HS and AK are partial days a lot of times. When we've gone for only 3 days, it was always full day MK, full day Epcot (maybe back to MK later for things we missed or want to do again) then HS and AK for the day. But we also skipped 99% of shows, character meetings, etc as I got older and was less interested in those things.
Ride wise I prefer Epcot, just because I love Test Track and Soarin. The raft ride at AK is fun although it's rarely been open the last few times I've been. Also like Dinosaur and I know H and my dad love Everest. I guess it depends on if the kids would be more interested in seeing animals or seeing the countries when they aren't on rides!
