Morning! Any fun Sunday plans? We have a double birthday party to go to this afternoon. I have $30 in Starbucks gift cards so we plan in stopping there too for coffee. That may be enough for 2 lattes lol.
I was up until 1:30am finishing up the last of my finals, and the puppy was up at 4:00am wanting to go out. We napped on the couch for a couple of hours, and now he's been barking in his crate for a solid 30 minutes.
Oregon decided to welcome spring with rain, rain, and more rain. It's a gross, mucky day so I plan to stay on the couch and catch up on some TV.

We've been cleaning/decluttering and making some good progress. We also have our corned beef & cabbage cooking since we weren't home to make it on Thursday and now it kind of smells in here.
I accidentally fell asleep on the couch and my H didn't wake me up, so we missed church. Oops. He thought I did it on purpose. Should I be insulted?
Later we're going to H's grandmother's 85th birthday party at a dirty church with dirty people. I really don't want to go. I don't want them touching my kids. But, marriage unity and all that...

@emtmissy, Starbucks sounds amazing right now. Enjoy! The sun is shining today which is wonderful! Spending the day doing odd jobs around the house and watching tv.

GW (which stands for Girl Wonder, she is my first foster daughter and moved out of town last August)was in town for the weekend and showed up this morning to visit and make me a bacon and tomato sandwich.
I'm working today, and it's a rainy day here so it's not too bad.
Last night dh and I were kinda voluntold that we were hosting Easter for his family. (I guess because we already offered to cook the turkey?) I don't mind hosting the adults as it would only be 5 adults plus dh and I. But my SILs kids will be coming and we don't have any things for the kids to do. They just end up terrorizing my pup and cat. So I told SIL that we would host but she has to bring stuff to entertain the kids for the evening. It's been 24 hrs since I text her and she hasn't replied yet. :/

We also got voluntold for Easter with my family. I don't mind since there aren't any other kids, but then I found out that everyone is spending the night. That's 6 extra adults. I'm a little annoyed that they let me say yes before telling me about the overnight and what will be several loads of laundry for sheets and towels.
I think it was 100% okay to text your SIL. If she is annoyed, don't let it bother you. She should know to bring stuff anyway but clearly needs to be told. Not too cool of her. Just in case she ignores you completely, maybe have some paper and pencils for them to draw?
amaranth- we have 2-3 coloring books, crayons, pencil crayons, and a few toys that my MIL bought us a few years ago. But the kids each have their own iPod and such at home so they get bored with regular toys easy. They also have their own tv at both their house and MILs so they hate how they can't watch kids shows at our house if the adults are watching something. (We also don't have cable.)
DH did so much work around the house yesterday. I was so pleased with him! So, I took G this morning and left the house for 2.5 hours so DH could have quiet time to play his games. I think he was appreciative. Plus G and I got to hang out at my mom's for the morning which was fun.
We bought steaks while we were out. Now we will have delicious food for dinner and I don't have to cook. Win win!
It's very cold with a threat of snow here today. So much for spring.
Another day, more house work. I already did the grocery shopping and started the laundry. Dinner is simmering on the stove. H is supposed to be painting ceilings but I'm pretty sure he's napping in the basement. My mom is driving my brother back to the university he attends in my town, so she'll come by for dinner. I just need to make it to Thursday and then I have off until April 4!
It's cold and windy here today. So we'll just being hanging out inside. I have a couple of loads of laundry to do. Nothing fun planned, but nothing too bad either.

H found out Friday he has to go out of town for work Tues-Wed, which is a little annoying. I heard him try to push back a week, but the other guy he is going with didn't have a sitter next week and H didn't want to leave him in a lurch. At least I don't have to go grocery shopping now - bright side?

Ahh I see. That is tricky. It's hard to compete with "inferior technology". Our niece and nephews get the same way sometimes. We only have one TV and no tablets or anything else to offer. We also don't have Netflix so when we do turn on the tv they get annoyed we don't have "their" shows. Lol. Oh well. They can tough it out.

We do have Netflix, but I would rather not have the only tv in the living area be on kid shows. I guess when SIL texts me back we will see what she says.

awick14 I don't think it's unreasonable for them to bring something to entertain the kids. I can't imagine taking E to someone's house and expect them to have things to entertain him with. I mean, he's still little so he's amused with a remote or a box or something, but still, haha. Honestly, I wouldn't feel bad about it if I were you!
awick14 I think that's more than reasonable to ask them to bring stuff to entertain the kids! Not that I have kids, but I assume that if I did I would always be prepared with toys/activities for them when visiting someone.
amaranth I can't believe they sprung an overnight visit on you, especially so soon after having a baby! good luck!
I have been so productive! I don't know what got into me, but yesterday after working out in the morning, I was super lazy and basically napped and watched TV u til 9pm... Then I got a burst of energy and did a major cleaning of my whole place. I'm talking, cleaning out random drawers and cabinets and even cleaned my makeup brushes! I was up til 4am cleaning. That is so unlike me, but H was out of town overnight and I just wasn't tired at all. Today, I slept late and then did a bunch of laundry and went through a giant pile of mail, recycled and shredded a ton, and filed a bunch of papers.
We skipped Mass today. Cleaned house and then had friends over this afternoon.
We were supposed to get snow today, but thankfully had clear weather all day! Too bad it wasn't warm enough to do yard work because the weeds are already popping up.

I think we're finally just about ready to get me a new laptop. The power cord on mine is pissing me off daily. I have to keep turning it and unplugging and plugging it back in for it to charge. It has to be in juuust the right spot. I'm fed up with it! We have the money in savings right now, H just got a random bonus at work, and we should be getting a return from taxes (we haven't done them yet, we will be bringing our stuff to my mom next weekend to do them, lol) so I don't feel too bad about it! Maybe instead of pulling the trigger on the tattoo I want to get, I'll wait and put some of my Christmas money towards it too. Now to decide what to get...
