Dogs & Apartments - HELP!

Hi guys! It's been a while.

We listed our house this week and it more or less sold in a second. Awesome - except we can't find anything. We have super awesome buyers and they're pretty flexible. We have a tentative closing at the end of May. In the meantime we're looking at houses, but in the case that we don't find anything (which seems unlikely at this point), we're fine with moving into an apartment for a while.

I live in Marlborough now and have 2 dogs. One is an English bulldog who weighs around 65 lbs and the other is a mastiff who weighs just over 160. Are you guys aware of any apartments that have awesome dog policies and don't have weight restrictions on dogs? I am fine with paying extra for the dogs and an extra deposit (completely expected). We're not dead set on any area since we'd only be there temporarily, so any suggestions are helpful (as long as it's not in far western mass).

No recommendations but congrats on the sale and good luck with the house and apartment hunting! The market is insane right now.

I'm not very familiar with that area but years ago, we were looked at a few apartment complexes in the 'burbs and many of them allowed dogs with no weight limits (ours is 120 lbs). I can't remember offhand which ones we looked at, other than one was an Arborpoint community. I think those corporate-run complexes also tend to have the benefit of flexible lease terms, so that might be an appealing solution to you. (We ended up finding landlords on Craigslist who were fine with dogs, before we bought our condo.)

Where are you looking to move to? I'm a little further north on 495, but I know Princeton Apartments in Chelmsford and Westford do short term rentals and allow large dogs (for an additional cost).

not dead set on any specific area for a rental. Probably 10-15 miles around Marlborough. I work in Marlborough and husband's territory goes all the way down 495 down around the Plainville area.
