Shanghai Disney

I am trying to convince my husband that we need to go! I'm aiming for next spring. Anyone else planning on going? When will you be going?

We are either going in October this year or May next year. Probably october though.

Where do you guys live that you are considering it? Or would you be going to China anyway?

I do think it would be cool to see the Disney parks in Japan & China but if we ever did it would be wrapped into a trip to those countries anyway. I'm super jealous, though!

I live in the US. We're crazy enough to travel there just for Disney!

I live in korea. I'm closer to Shanghai now than I was to WDW when I lived in my home state of MI! We've been to the Tokyo & Hong Kong disneys and I really want to hit Shanghai's before we move back to the US. I would not recommend a trip to this side of the world just to see Disney because the parks are much smaller and not worth visiting more than 1-2 days in a trip, but Shanghai, Tokyo & HK are awesome cities to visit even with kids. Japan also has a universal studios in osaka (near kyoto).

Awesome! If I were you I'd totally go! Yes, if we ever saw those parks it would be an afterthought to seeing that part of the world anyway. I mean, I've been to France several time but never saw Disneyland Paris. Compared to the other things you could be seeing in those countries...

my husband is a terrible traveler. Not adventurous at all. I'm really hoping to convince him to venture out while there

I have been to Hong Kong Disney and Disneyland Paris. I would worry about the crowds at Shanghai Disney, for some reason, I feel like it is going to be chaos!

ETA: We will probably go at some point, but DH will insist on the VIP guide.

It would be borderline criminal to travel to China and not see anything else besides Disney World. Shanghai is awesome. We spent four days there last year and loved it.
