Military benefit for children

Does anyone know of a benefit for children? I would like to sign my child up for a Soccer league and was told there is some sort of benefit. TIA!

There's not really a benefit for soccer league. Many bases offer youth soccer as part of MWR. The league here still has fees. I think it's $25 to sign up. That includes the uniform fee.

Hmmm, the point of contact at the league said he knows of 2 military families that received some sort of scholarship for the league. It's a private league, not on base.

I'm guessing that's specific to the league. I'd ask him about it. My kids have been a part of either city leagues or private club leagues for at least 6 years. I've never seen anything like that.

I did, but he is not sure as well and doesn't want to go through 400 applications to find it. He said the families filled out some scholarship form and then the money was sent directly to him on their behalf. I'll continue to look around, thanks.

Perhaps go through your MWR program or FRG and see if they have any details for you. Like others said, it sounds local.

You can always ask your base Family Readiness Center...they usually have all kinds of good information.

If the child's parent is deployed you can get camps paid for through Operation Military Kids, but this program is only for Reserve/National Guard
