Yes! You will love it. Especially with your parents & babysitting. ?
We haven't done a monorail resort with the kids yet, that's the plan for the next trip. But we love love the beach club and have stayed there 3 times. The pool is amazing. The ridiculously short walk to Epcot is great. Definitely do an 8am breakfast at akershus!
I can answer more questions, but this is definitely our fave. If I was buying dvc, this would be my top choice for home resort.

Best pool on property. Disney has yet to top it in any of their other resorts. Your kids will probably want to spend all their time at the pool.
Its also a great location for doing EPCOT for dinner each night. April will also be the Flower and Garden Festival so EPCOT will be all decked out.
Good luck getting the resort. We have never been able to use DVC points to stay there; it is one of the smaller DVC resorts and fills up fast. We have been on the DVC waiting list to buy points and we have had no luck

I had no issue at the 7 month window getting a 1 bedroom the first week of May two years in a row at Beach Club. We ended up switching resorts to AKV Kidani for one trip and cancelling the other. I think Food and Wine and the marathons are when its crazy hard to get even at the 11 month window.

Are you on the list for the resale companies?
We are actually on the DVC list since Disney has first right of refusal for all DVC sales and they will also buy back points from members. Our DVC rep keeps track of what is in the system for resale and has a list of what all her clients are looking for.
Resale company sales take way too long and you still have to get approval from Disney.

How much is Disney charging for direct points?
They definitely do not buy back every resale contract. I've seen at least 5 BCV that have passed since January of this year on the various websites. $125/point or less.
ETA: And I'm not anti-direct. Our BLT was bought direct. I just think cheaper cost per point equals more disney!

The one time they did have Beach Club for resale it was around $120 per point but that was also right after we signed the contract for Aulani and had no $$$ to buy another 200+ points. The timing sucked!! We had been on the list for Hawaii and had our deposit paid the minute Aulani went on sale to the public. A week after we signed all the paperwork the BCV popped up in the system.
We are trying to find 150+ points for the Grand with the same use year as the rest of our DVC points. Those points are so damn expensive and I wish we had bought more to start with since I only paid $85 per point; now they are $140+ for resale. I miss my CM discount days!

The Grand is insane to get. Good luck! I wish we had done another 50 at BLT when we bought in the first place. I've been trying to find a resale contract but because it's a small amount everyone wants like $130-$140/point. I can't swallow that yet when we paid barely $100 new.

Yes! The pool is awesome. It's especially good if you're planning a really laid back trip. Do one of the parks in the morning and then spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool while you watch the kids play in the shallow end and the sand.

What do you think about difficulty watching small children there? My son is a waterslide nut and at 4 I don't want him walking outside the pool area to climb the slide 100 times in an afternoon. (We are currently booked at BWI.)

The water slide is pretty far from the shallow baby pool. We let the boys do that for a period while I watched (they also had life jackets on and there were life guards at the top of the slide and bottom). Then we made them play together in the shallow end. There was a ton of sand and sand toys around to play with so they were happy with that.
We stayed at BLT last summer, and while I really enjoyed it, I also love the Epcot resorts. We have not stayed at Beach Club but it is on the top of my to-stay list. We have stayed at Boardwalk a few times and I just love the atmosphere of that whole area.
