Right now they're the same price but I think 4S has better amenities. Our plan is to be there for a week so possibly a split stay and do one day at MK, one day at AK. We also looked at the Waldorf but 4S has a better pool and restaurants.
Doesn't it?! The lazy river I think would be fun for DD. We decided it would be fun to do a big trip to celebrate DH's knee hopefully feeling better since it'll be out of commission all summer.

I would love to take a trip there where the focus is more on the resort than the parks. You're still close enough you can go to them, but I would definitely want to relax and take advantage of the 4S amenities! The restaurants look good as well!
That's what we were thinking, plus 4S has a character meal and kids under 5 eat free at all their restaurants so I think we would end up saving money on food.
If you've been to Disney before and can afford it, I'm drooling over 4S.
I grew up in FL and my dad lived in Orlando so I've been to Disney a ton and we always stay at the Poly but haven't been since they did all the renos. I'm also wondering if I'll feel like we are missing out staying at 4S and not a Disney hotel? But it looks so nice!
We've done poly before and it was great but our next trip in April will be to 4s and I'm so excited.
I can't wait to hear what you think! We have a while before we will book but I like to plan everything out and do all my research The pools and restaurants look out of this world.
What rate are you getting? Everytime I look at Disney hotel rates they're insane prices like $700/night. I always wonder who has $5,000 just for a hotel at Disney lol.
I know I post this on every thread, it seems, but seriously look at renting DVC units at those resorts. Well, not the yacht but the beach you can. I just looked at week November into december and a studio was in the $1700-2200 range more or less.
daisyfay25 Not too good to be true at all. I've used that particular broker 3 times and have a studio at the Grand Californian booked for November. This is why I suggest it so much, I have literally never found a better deal for the deluxe accommodations -and many time they've even been comparable to moderate stay (depending on the DVC resort and current promotions).

We are lucky that we are local so we just stalk Florida resident deals and only stay in a hotel when a great deal pops up. We are about a 1h and 15m drive from Disney, so usually we go up for the day.

I live in FL, too! So the insane rates are FL resident rates lol. We live 4 hrs away so it takes more notice for us to plan a trip. What time of year are you able to typically get great deals? Is there any sort of pattern?
I don't know if there is a pattern. We just started doing passes and going last June.
So far, our cheapest rates have been summer and April.
This is very helpful. We booked the Poly 2 days before we had an offer accepted on our house. So I ended up having to cancel our trip but deep down inside I felt like I was going to be overpaying for the sake of staying at a Disney hotel. Though there would be that issue of taking a cab to Disney if DD still has to be in a car seat. I guess we'd have to just rent a car?
