I told DD Saturday night that it was time for me to put her to bed. She said she didn't want me to put her to bed. I asked who she wanted (we were at my parents' house so there were more options). She didn't answer, like if she didn't pick, she didn't have to go to bed.
It was like the end of Ghostbusters. I asked her if she wanted the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man to put her to bed and laughed myself silly.
I just got devastating news that a friend's adoption fell through 4 weeks after placement. I can't even imagine. Advice on what to do? We sent a baby gift, which will be used when they have another child, but I have never known someone who experienced this, so I don't know how to help.

This happened to my friend. She was devastated. I bought her a mantra bracelet. I also helped her clean up so we got the things that were out for everyday use put back in the nursery so she wouldn't see it every day. I was really just an ear. So sorry for your friend.

DD uses this tactic a lot. Like, if she doesn't answer, she doesn't have to cooperate. LOL

Spent sat night and Easter morning at my sisters house with my nieces. The 5yo always gets really sad when I have to leave to go home and go to work.
Niece: why don't you get married? Me: I'm just not interested in having a husband. Niece: yeah but if you marry someone who works a lot then you don't have to, and you can stay with us more.
I was both lol at her plan to marry me off so I have more time to play with her and raising an eyebrow at where she gets this stuff at her age!
I don't know why Jack has his shirt hiked up like that and Paddy had already changed into the world's most obnoxious sneakers (pretend they are still his cute boat shoes).

Here are my babes. And yes, that is my 4.5 year old without her two front teeth (one came out 2 months ago, and the second one I pulled because it was SO loose - all because of a previous injury a year ago).
And my random - my older son, Paddy, is staying with my MIL this week as his school is closed. We left him at the Easter celebration yesterday as it was on Long Island and would take us at least three hours to get home.
Anyway, as we were leaving DS2, Jack, realized Paddy wasn't coming with us. He cried for the next half hour until he fell asleep, "I want my brodder." "When's Paddy coming home?"
He even asked to sit in my lap and be held (while driving) and that did me in. I was so proud of them for finally starting to become friends and play well together. And also so sad for Jack that he's really torn up about missing Paddy. (Meanwhile Paddy was all "Don't let the door hit you in the a$$. I'm going to be spoiled by Grandma all week. Swimming pool - here I come")
So I'm going to spoil the hell out of that kid this week. I originally planned to sleep train him but screw that - eventually he'll learn to sleep (right? If not, lie to me), he'll only be my baby for a tiny bit longer.
