We're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and have 7:15 reservations at Crystal Palace. Will the bus get us there that early or do we need to drive? What time do we need to plan to leave?

Honestly,I'd look into a taxi or uber. The busses may run early enough but if you miss the bus, you're stuck. We wee actually a half hour late to a cp reservation because we missed a boat launch. The next one came 20 minutes later and only did the resorts, so we had to get off at contemporary and walk/run to the MK. It really put a damper on our morning.
Edit to add: derp. Saw you'll have a car. I'd drive to be on the safe side. Make sure you leave time to deal with the ttc and taking the monorail or boat to MK.

You can get a bus, but you need to be out waiting for one at like 5:45 or 6am. We had an 8am ADR at Tusker House at AK and we were out waiting for a bus at 6:45 and they kept changing the bus arrival time (most resorts now have a screen that shows what time each bus is supposed to arrive) and we didn't end up leaving the Contemporary until like 7:20. You might be able to ask the front desk the night before if they can radio for a bus when you get down there, but I'm sure that's rare that they actually will (calling the front desk just calls a call center so don't bother with that).

Or you can drive. Park at the Ticket and Transportation Center and take the resort monorail. If you have a 7:15 ADR, I would assume the resort monorail would be running by 6:30 or 6:45.
Fair warning, we "should" have been fine transportation-wise for our pre-park opening breakfast at Hollywood and Vine last month, but bus service from our hotel was abruptly canceled with no notice that morning. We were staying at the Boardwalk so we were able to make it there on foot, but the experience has made me wary of trusting those buses for early meals.
