For our late October/early November trip, DH and I are going to drop the kids off at the kids club at the Polynesian for the evening. Its $55/kid for the whole evening including dinner and snacks. Drop off is 4:30 and pick up is anytime up to midnight. Our girls will be 3 and 5, but are great with late hours (we stayed until midnight during the Christmas party in December and both were wide awake and running around on the walk back to BLT haha!) so I'm figuring we'll get them around 10.
This will be on a weekday evening.
What should DH and I do with our free evening? The obvious thought is just spend the evening at the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. I just didn't know if there was some other suggestion that was really cool that we couldn't think of.
I do think food & wine and also illuminations kid-free would be awesome. When we've had parents with us to baby sit (don't have kids all old enough for kids clubs yet!) we've done a restaurant in epcot and hanging out there. Monsieur Pauls was SO great.
Could also be fun do do a drink around the monorail - but eat & drink. Drink & app at trader sams at the poly, dinner at narcoosees, dessert at the cali grill? Or some variation there of. Can watch the fireworks on the beach? Even swing into the MK for a ride or 2.

I actually really like this idea! I think DH might as well. If we end up back at Poly, we can watch the fireworks from the beach and then pick the kids up right afterwards.
Yes, you won't spend as much time traveling this way, either. Not that the monorail to epcot is that big a deal. I think having a spin on the people mover w/o kids but after a drink & dinner would be so much fun!

My other idea was to bus from MK (walk over from BLT) to Beach Club and drop the kids off there and walk through the IG to F&W, but when I suggested it to DH he was like "oh I thought we were going to have dinner and then go to MK for a bit" He's not a huge F&W at night fan because of how crazy it can get.
But the dinner and drinks around the monorail and then into MK for a bit seems much more like what he'd want to do.
