I've posted on other boards where spoilers can be typed in spoiler boxes that have to be clicked to be read OR are blacked out and you have to run your cursor over the box to read.
Is that possible to do on this board? Or if not, is it something that we could suggest to "management" be an added option? Has anyone else used those and liked them?

I've seen them/used them. I don't know if they are possible here, but if they are I would recommend them. That way you have no one but yourself to blame if something is spoiled for you.
Changing the color sounds like a good idea. We'll have to right that into the board rules.
I'm not sure if it was mentioned on here or the Entertainment board, but the app shows a preview of the text. In the regular format, you can see the preview by hovering over the title as well. We should avoid putting spoilers in the first few lines of text for that reason.

or at least write it in the thread title that there may be spoilers so people can avoid it

Yeah, that will work as well, but sometimes as has happened over the last few days with Outlander, we've revealed spoilers in the course of a normal discussion. Everyone put spoiler warnings on their post, but it might be nice if the actual spoiler had to be highlighted to read. That would prevent someone from accidentally seeing it as their scroll.
I get the whole idea behind this but changing the text color every time sounds like a huge pain in the ass, not to mention that I can't highlight text on my phone to read it.
I'm fine with starting spoilers a few rows down though, it seems like a good compromise for app users.

It's possible to add spoiler tags but they will not work on the app, so i think it's probably best just to not use them. I am not sure of the text colors work on the app or not.

good point... if the op writes a spoiler they should mention it in the thread title... if spoilers come out after that stating at the beginning of the post "spoliers below"
or if a mod/OP could add spoiler to the thread title later on?
Nova makes a good point about posters who use the app.
If you're the OP, maybe you'll just need to tag your posts and hit enter a couple times to avoid the preview pane. If in the course of a discussion you feel spoilers are necessary, you should give warning, hit enter a few times, and then write the spoiler.
