So, last year he said you had 3 years? That makes it 2 years now, then add in the maternity and her leave from work, that gives you 1 year left. Tell him you are only quitting a year earlier than planned. You'd be surprised what you save from not working and that 20% will go down to about 8%. (all numbers and figures are just pulled out of my ass, which is what I would tell him to kiss).

I would try to come to a mutual agreement with H for sure. I also think that once a baby gets here its a different story for men than the "idea of a baby" if that makes sense. How exciting for you though!
