Thursday randoms

I think I finally mixed a protein shake that I liked. I did 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder, 1 cup almond milk, 2 ice cubes, 1/3 of a banana, and about 5 frozen strawberries. I mixed it before I left home and put it in the fridge for meal 2 and I actually drank it all in 15 minutes. I'm going to make the same one for meal 6 tonight. And I scrambled 2 whole eggs with spinach and mushrooms and had some strawberries for my breakfast and, while I felt I could have eaten more, my stomach wasn't growling in between meal 1 & 2.

Oh, and another random. This one is *really* random. I was listening to my voicemails at work and some guy left a message and said "I don't know who this is or why you're calling, but if you're not going to leave a message then don't call again." Ummmm.... Ok whoever you are. I will gladly not call you back. The thing I don't understand is how he got to me to leave that kind of message. You have to go through a menu of options before getting to me. Weirdo.

But really, I remembered 2 minutes after I'd left, but there was no way to go back without being late. I mostly work alone so it sucks to not have my phone not just for entertainment, but safety as well. First time I've forgotten it in years! I'll probably be super sad when I finally see it and have no notifications or texts, lol.

I have so much work to do. Which is great, but I'm dealing with a crazy micro manager and it's just really frustrating. On top of that she doesn't seem to "get" a lot of things. I know it's not me so I'm not the only person who has this issue. Her lack of ability to comprehend things is truly concerning.

I am heading out to Dallas in a few hours. Bf works overnights, so I won't see him until tomorrow morning when he is off, but my best friend is picking me up and we are doing dinner. Tomorrow (while bf sleeps) I have an appointment with my friend who is a pro makeup artist because she said she has new things to show me, will be fun to catch up and have fun with makeup at the same time.

My boss has a mix of micro managing and condescension that is so insulting and frustrating. I am at the point where Im ready to quit without something lined up because my mental health can't take much more.

I feel you! Fortunately this is just a client and I think this is short term. But OMG yes the condescension. And also they never review things in depth and just don't listen. I have this go round all the time:

"Well XYZ isn't included!"
"Yes it is, in this section right here."
"Well it's not in-depth enough you need to say XYZ."
"It does say XYZ, is that not what you were looking for?"
"Cleary you are not understanding at ALL what I'm saying"

I had a man apologize to me for another man street harassing me today. I almost cried because it is nice for a man to understand that shit is fucked up.

Today I set up a paddle boarding day with three of my friends. They've ever met, but I'm hopeful that everyone will get along so I'm excited.

Tonight is the first night since I've been back that I have nothing planned and it sounds absolutely amazing.

Nothing even bad. Some random guy just waved me down to talk about how I have "a lot of leg." Other random guy whipped around and was all, "Did he just say what I think he did! I AM SO SORRY!"  It's just nice that some guy recognized a stranger talking about my body isn't fun for me.

I have been super busy with work and haven't logged on proboards in a while. I hope things calm down at work so I can get to the more *important* stuff, like catching up on here! :-)

I had a date last night and it was just awkward. The guy had no personality and would not look at me while I was talking to him. The only good thing to come out of it was that I found a few new beers that I like.

My current boss who I now really love, was REALLY REALLY micro managy for the first 6 months. It drove me to the point where I almost cried weekly. I finally figured out WHAT she needed and how to communicate to her better and it made our relationship easier. I totally feel your pain @pdx18!

I've been really good at following my do for me and stay sober and go to school and be a good mom mantra. S has been dive bombing me in the middle of the night because she hates her crib but I haven't been able to order the side rail to convert it to a toddler bed yet. She literally climbs to the top of her crib and dives on top of me in my bed like she's jumping off the top rope wrestling style. 40 lb kid on your chest waking you up at 3 am is really anxiety inducing lol.

Been doing some great hair cuts/colors at school and banking hours for when I have to cut back to work full time in May. 14 weeks to go until graduation...

Hey! We still have no furniture and stuff and it's kind of annoying.  We got here Monday afternoon and the window was between Tuesday to Sunday.  It looks like our stuff may not arrive until Sunday and that's a bummer because I start my new job on Monday.  
Today we ran back and forth to the DMV twice and it took a while, but we now have our drivers licenses and license plates etc all taken care of.  
On the bright side, I really like it here so far. It's pretty and the people are friendly and there is so much convenience--food, shopping etc very close and lots to do.
