I love it. I don't love all the colors personally but I love a Victorian house and I like the updates. Except I do not even understand what the hell is going on in the last picture you posted- is that a shower just in a room? I'm super confused by that

Oh wait, is that a bathroom? I'm on my phone so it's small but now I see that looks like a sink? The hardwood floors are throwing me- they must have converted a room to a bathroom? Still confused but less WTF about it now

I *hate* that they painted the woodwork. I *guarantee* that there's old-growth redwood under all that white paint.
The bathroom is odd. I do like the juxtaposition of modern furniture with the age of the house, and it gives me hope that I'm not stuck with formal victorian type furniture (which is not at all my style). I love the landscaping, but I wish they'd done something more water-friendly. I mean, that's clearly fresh sod and we're in a drought. Sod needs to be watered like, every other day. DUMB.
I wish the access to the smaller unit was not so prevalent (d'oh) and finally, what's with that long window in the back? I had to go through the pictures because I assumed it would be in the kitchen but doesn't appear so. It's odd.
I think there must be an eating area off of the kitchen, separated by a bar. In one kitchen picture, you can see the big window with the door next to it. I don't like how easily you can see in through that big window, either. We have a big, unprotected window, and I feel like my house is on display. No, thank you!

Agree that grass is dumb, but I think it's unlikely to be fresh sod. I suspect that was photoshopped. It's a little too green, kwim?
Nurse Cramer had stopped speaking to Nurse Duckett, her best friend, because of her liaison with Yossarian, but still went everywhere with Nurse Duckett since Nurse Duckett was her best friend....Nurse Cramer was prepared to begin talking to Nurse Duckett again if she repented and apologized.

All the grass around here, with the polarizing filter our REAs love, is that green. LOL
But ... on closer inspection, what I thought were sod lines may just be lawnmower marks.

There is something I can't put my finger on that I don't like. Because it feels slightly dated modern? (I hate that yellow paint.) Or maybe because the photography is too good for what on the interior is a pretty bland house? Idk. It looks like it is trying, but it's a bit of a snore to me. Everything is so expected I guess.
Love the exterior. I want that back porch and hot tub. I like that they put a couch in their dining room because I sort of want one in mine too. Hate the black fireplace. I sort of get the hardwood in the bathroom (easier to clean than tile) and they probably wanted a walk out shower so I get that they extended the tile a little bit (maybe someone is in a wheelchair?) but it looks off. Kitchen is dated but good layout.
I actually like what they did with the bathroom, preserving the old wood floors.
I also like that they kept the dining room separate, instead of what many people do with renovations - just remove all walls, everywhere on the main floor.
The kitchen... could be better, could be worse. My pet peeve is awesome Victorian houses where the kitchen looks like it came out of a new build in a cul de sac in any other town in America.
I love the outside but the fixtures inside just aren't jiving for me. I think it would be simple enough to update a few things to mesh it all, but I don't know. I wish it was possible to see a before.
It bugs. It feels like a flip by consensus. They went all stainless, granite, hardwood and missed the detals that made the place charming.
It kind of feels like someone ended up with a Victorian, but didn't really like Victorians.
Was the house built like that or renovated to elevate for a flood zone or something. The curve of the little troll door and the red main entrance aren't playing nicely. The lower floor window doesn't match the house's exterior either.
I am sort of offended by all the white millwork, a sin as grievous as wall-to-wall carpeting in a house of this vintage. And LMAO at the curtain rod hung over the door in the parlor and painted white. WTF? The bookcase in that room look like a a badly executed IKEA hack.
I think they did a nice job with the updated kitchen but I would have preferred a splashback in tile and something different on the floor. And a more rustic countertop. Maybe soapstone.
I actually like the eclectic look of modern pieces juxtaposed with vintage victorian. But for some reason, the dining lamp bugs me. Love the lamp, just not there.
Did they photoshop the mulch around the trees green?

auntie - no, I think that's grass. There's only mulch under the one tree. And I don't know what's up with the downstairs, unless it was originally intended as a servants' quarters. The Tuttles, whose house this originally was, were pretty well off so it's not outside the realm of possibility. There's another house here in town that's actually called Tuttle Mansion (versus this one, referred to as Tuttle House, just to be confusing). But I'm pretty sure this was original location and original setup of the house (versus ours, which was moved and set on a new foundation.)
