I just don't have a strong memory and it scares me as I get older! LOL.
I'm watching The Bourne Identity. A movie I've seen before. A lot I do remember, but the sub plot and the actors involved? It's like I've never seen this movie before...

I go out to dinner occasionally with a friend of my husband's. We usually pick pretty interesting local mom-and-pop restaurants and were talking about trying a Nepalese place that sounds really interesting. Some months go by, and we start negotiating our next gtg. I suggest that Nepalese place we had talked about before ...
"You mean the one we went to last time? Let's try someplace new." Nope. No recollection of it whatsoever.
I used to read Patricia Cornwell books. I was reading one once and about 2/3's of the way through, I read a scene where I suddenly realized I had read it before. NO clue up until that point.

Books do it to me, too. I heard one time that here are something like 12 plot lines TOTAL, so I figure I am screwed.

I'm certain that my son thinks I've got Swiss cheese for brains…I can't remember shit these days. My DH has taken to kicking me under the table when we are out with friends when I start to retell a story the he remembers me already sharing. Me? It's like I'm brand new and haven't got a clue. Oops.
I don't remember a damn thing. A couple of years ago I bought the same book three times! It really bugs me when I can't remember what a word means. A word I SHOULD know! Makes me crazier than I already am!
I'll remember details of certain situations in the past. For instance, I recall exactly what I was wearing on my first date with S (and what he wore as well) 21 years ago, but I can be talking to someone and lose track of what my point was in the first place. That's been happening a lot. I was interviewing a potential accountant and was giving background on a certain aspect of the role and completely lost my train of thought of where I was going with it.
Oh, another example- I was talking to friends A & B about some issue. The next day, I was talking to friend A and was like "OH- who was I talking to about this? I can't remember ** and then went into the same issue **". friend A goes "Um, that was me".
Well, friend A, aren't you glad that your so memorable to me?
I always put things in a spot so I do not misplace them.....of course then I do not remember where!
JUST this morning, DH tells me that DS needs an art smock. So he goes and grabs and old t-shirt to send in. But I'm like "Where is his from last year?". I KNOW I put it in a very logical spot so that when he needed it this year, we could just grab it.
But yeah... I have no idea what that logical spot would be!!
Last week I could not for the life of me remember the name of Beyonce's old band. I had to look it up - Destiny's Child. I spent way to long racking my brain on that one!
There is a restaurant I have been to 800 times and for some reason can NEVER REMEMBER THE NAME! It's like this bizarre road block my brain performs.
I'm so happy to read this thread! Not that I wish anyone memory issues, but I'm comforted to know that I am not the only one having this issue.
So many things that are on the tip of my tongue that I know but can't seem to find the right word(s). Names and common words that I have used many times for many years just escape me now.
It kind of scares me and I'm really grateful for Google!
I noticed this lapse in memory about a year after my surgical menopause kicked in...it sucks. Also, I can remember the most random thing from my childhood, but not so much 2 months ago. Short-term memory loss leaves me feeling quite anxious.

This is me too. Ask me details about my teacher Miss Johnson in Kindergarten and the detail of the dresses I wore to school when I was 7, but don't ask me about a show I watched last week! LOL It makes me sad.
I understand now why my grandparents told us stories from their childhood. They couldn't remember anything else!
I have a decent memory for the shenanigans on Married Life but I remember next to nothing about the years of my actual life.
You have amazing recall to the nuances in ML. You constantly surprise me. I, on the other hand, remember stories from here vaguely...except some of the really shocking ones. (ballburgergate for instance)

In a way, I blame the internet because we don't NEED to remember as much. We can always go look it up! Imagine how much more information we are processing on a daily basis than our grandparents did.

I agree. My memory was way better before I had a laptop and a cell phone. It's pathetic how much I've forgotten in the past few years. (Of course, I also have had two young children, who may have contributed to my new feeble-mindedness.)
