As lame as it sounds, mine is that we are getting the interior of our house repainted from taupe to gray. Its given me an opportunity to throw some things out, organize and downsize just a bit which has been great.
Isn't it funny how it's the little things that get us excited?!?! Lol
I have a pair of Clarks shoes that I love and wear all of the time. I've had them almost 4 years and they are starting to look worn. I've been trying to find them online so I can replace them and figured they no longer made that style. Last week I found them at QVC in my size and they had them in "as is" pricing which was about half price (could be a return or on air demo). Yay!

Honestly, it was booking the tickets to head home in October. I'm meeting my parents in Quebec for a cruise and then I'll be in NOLA for three weeks. And I'll be home right after my BFF is due, so I should be able to meet her new addition before s/he turns 5.

DH and I got new Surface Pro tablets this weekend. They're pretty cool. They're not going to take the place of our laptops at home, but they're going to be great for travel.

Moving yesterday back into our house (it'll only be for 6 or so months). I love our house. The moving itself sucked (I hate moving) and the process of unpacking will stink (plus still have to grab things from my MIL's house) but we're here. I can now have a gorgeous shower/bath any time I want!!!
This is basically the setup at my MIL's house - there is NO hot water pressure, so I had to use the sink part to rinse my hair. And the hot water would run out. Boo!
We're going to be getting all things changed at my MIL's house before we move back so I can have hot baths and showers there. (basically gutting the house and starting anew)

I know it's not really last week as much as this week, but...pulling out clothes and stuff for our vacation -- we leave Friday morning! Cancun, baby, with H, and my kids and their SOs - hopefully we will all still love each other on Wednesday when we come home! My son's b'day is Tuesday, while we're there, so I need to remember to bring some stuff to decorate the unit.
I ran in the Cherry Blossom 10 ,lie race on Sunday and was so happy with my results. I have run it in the past and my best time was about 12 min miles and finished at 2hrs. This year I have been running a ton (we have a fit it challenge at work) and I was really in my best running condition ever. I finished at an average of 10 min miles and shaved almost 20 minutes off my previous time. Plus, I was able to cross the finish line at full stride and with a big old smile. Usually (as my DH points put) I look ready to die!! Now I am going to do my first half marathon in 3 weeks and I am so ready!
We ran into friends at the local coffee shop and our families ended up sitting down for coffee and bagels together. It was nice for me to realize that we've started to find "our people" in this new city. We also got asked last week by another couple to be emergency contacts for their kids. It made me kind of nervous to decide that this would be our forever home after moving to a new city every 5 years all my adult life, but I think it's working out!

I made it home safely. The past week hasn't been great. My mother died, I had to leave town abruptly, and spent a lot of time on the road. It ended with food poisoning, so I'm glad I made it home safely is all I have.
Being mostly unpacked and not looking at boxes. We were in a hotel in temp housing for 2 LONG months. I love my new house. I would even go so far to call it my dream home. I never thought I'd say those words.

We're moving in three weeks and I'm dreading it. It's not even that I have to do much because its a corporate relocation so we've got movers to do all the packing, loading etc. But at the other end, I dread all the unpacking and putting away. I fantasize about being super rich and having a personal assistant take care of all if it while I relax somewhere on a tropical beach.
Oh girl, I hear you. Ours is a corporate relo too, full pack and move, but it's still the agony of dragging around doing all of it. We moved some stuff to a temporary hotel suite/Staybridge kinda deal then that stuff to new house. Drove to San Antonio to meet the movers, loaded car, truck and trailer with golf cart and crap that wouldn't fit on big moving truck. Back here to unload. I confess, our relo program offered us an unpacker and organizer for 12 hours for free and then I paid her for an extra 6 hours (over $400) but it was the best $$ I ever spent. I also paid cleaners to do the move out clean and hired new cleaners for new house. I am extra lazy and am going to need to reign in my "throw money at it" mindset. I will probably wait until after they come and weed, do the mulch and trim the shrubs. LOL.
For my best thing was SHOES! I had found a pair of comfortable walking shoes for my hoiday that did look "too old lady tourist". Store had my size, butnot he colour I wanted. Checked on Amazon. my size, my colour, on sale. Plus another pair that were walking shoes with a little wedge (same brand). great for cute skirts. Also on sale. So two pairs of shoes, plus shipping for less than what the store here wanted for one pair.
The added bonus was they cost me NOTHING! Back when the exchange rate was excellent, I had bought some GC for my account. I still had money on one of them, so I have shoes and enough left for a few Kindle books!

And you didn't give us the link to them because...?
No, seriously, give me a link so I can see what you are talking about - I need new touristy walking shoes!
We're moved in! We have a ton of boxes left to unpack and a ton of tuff still at the old house that I'll be bringing over during this week, but we're primarily in. I even roasted a chicken this week - I haven't been able to do that in a year! (My MILs house did not have a working oven) I cannot wait to bake bread and make cookies! And I don't have to share a bathroom with my MIL and we have a working shower. I'm so happy.
