I grew up on skim, actually some garbage called skim supreme which was skim with thickeners (gross) but now can only drink whole. My son drinks straight half and half since he needs the calories, and we use 40% fat cream in our oatmeal and most cooking. I think the only reduced fat dairy product we eat is mozzarella since its easier to shred. Full fat all the way!
Oh man, when I can schedule a stop to the right store, I get this local, non-homogenized whole milk that is amazing. There is the massive chunk of cream that is practically butter that you have to stab through at the top of the jug when you first buy it so it will even pour. Ooh, and they sell this chocolaty caffeinated version that's amazing.
I think it probably depends on what you grew up on. We drank skim growing up so everything else just tastes like cream to me. I can handle a couple of sips of 2% if nothing else is available and I'm eating something chocolatey (must have milk with chocolate).
I grew up on skim and only drink whole now. To be fair, though, I used to drink milk with dinner, and now I only use it in lattes and cooking. Skim milk lattes are blech compared to the full fat variety.
Hey now. I know you're not throwing shade on almond milk, right? It's both yummy (like me ) and cruelty free (unlike me, when you talk shit about my milk. ).
If it ain't from a boob it ain't milk. I reject it based on name!
Also, it tastes like ass.
There's no soy milk because there's no soy tittie!
I want to know why finding whole milk Greek yogurt is like looking for a unicorn. Out of an entire giant aisle of Greek yogurt, my grocery store carries only one brand that isn't reduced or 0% fat. Reduced/no fat Greek yogurt (and sour cream and ricotta and cheese) taste like cardboard compared to the real thing.
OMG yeeeeeessss. I would do anything for Costco to sell a full fall Greek yogurt.

I used to find this near us. Then the owner of the dairy died and his son refused to take on the responsibilities and I lost my delicious milk.
Pre-pregnancy I could drink 1 or 2% but it became nasty during pregnancy. I can only drink skim now. Everything else tastes so thick and cream like. Naaaasty.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

You are supposed to shake it every time you use it so that gets incorporated. No stabbing required.
The lack of full fat Greek yogurt options pushed me to get a yogurt maker. That's how serious I am about my full fat dairy.
Also, this made me laugh. Looking at you skim milk drinkers!

Yessssss!!!!! I am always trying to find whole milk greek yogurt for my DS and DD. Its impossible. My DS is skinny and needs all the fat. Its so frustrating.
Also, cooking with whole milk is everything! My homemade mac and cheese is so much better now that I use whole milk instead of 2%.

This reminds me: my grandfather would apparently sneak out on early winter mornings to break off and eat the frozen cream that floated above the top of the milk in their delivered bottles in 1920ish leaving the rest of the milk basically skim. His sister was still complaining about this in the 1990s! Milk is serious business!
My DH thinks bacon is a health food, and not in a joking way. We are a pro-animal fat household. I don't really love bacon because I'm a freak but he loves it. We try to get the best quality possible so the pasture raised/humanely treated or whatever, without added nitrates or whatever (lol clearly I'm an expert), and we don't have it every day or anything but we don't consider it bad.
