Anyone pay for Memory Maker? Is it worth it? I'm usually the one taking all the pictures/videos, so I'm intrigued. Also, DD will be getting her first hair cut at Harmony Barber shop and they told me a photographer could be there to take pics if i have memory maker. Are the pictures better quality than what I could do myself (non-professional)?
We always purchased Photo Pass and I liked having it just so we had some group shots. I just pre-ordered Memory Maker for a trip next week and I think it's pretty much the same. If you purchase it at least three days before your trip, you save $20. Glad to hear about the Harmony Barber Shop. My son is also getting his first haircut there!

I did not know we could request a photographer at the barber shop. Do you know if that is only for a first haircut?
We did and overall I am glad we did. My biggest complaint is some of the photographers need to clean their lenses better. This was a problem in some of our AK photos.
We pre-ordered it for our trip next month. It was only $149 and we have 6 days of passes so the investment is only $25/day for us and I figured it would be worth it if we got some cute shots.
we usually do a memory maker share (have done it with a DIS group and with a friend) and really like having it. This year I left my DSLR in the room since I had MM
We got it for 1 day. It was my moms 60th bday and the whole family went.
The ride pics were worth it but the regular pics were awful. Like awful. The flash, the lighting, man everything about them. And it rained so there were no photographers out and about. Our castle pic is horrible.
I'm a little bitter about it still. But it prob is worth it if you are going for a few days. And our ride pics are priceless.

I'm not sure how they would get a photographer at the barbershop. The phone cast members are notoriously known for giving bad info. We did two first haircuts there and we took our own pictures. I would try to search online and see what information you can find.

she was definitely trying to sell me Memory Maker, so I wouldn't be surprised if she gave me incorrect info.
One thing to keep in mind when deciding is that photopass photographers are not at character meals and not at all the character meet and greets, so bring your own camera.
We get it almost every trip, and I've always been really happy we had it. The photos the photographers got of DS2 during one of his Jedi training experiences pretty much made the entire cost of the package on one of our trips, we loved them so much and ours weren't anywhere near that good.
We love the magic shots, and I love being able to download all the photos, then go back and do cheesy borders and autographs on them and downloading again. I'm a sucker and I know it.
We did a Memory Maker share with a friend last year and it was still questionably worth it at half price.
We got a lot of really bad photos--like, the iconic photo in front of the castle? Yeah, we have like 15 that are blurry and blue-tinged. It's weird.
I do think it's good for big group trips so you can really get your money's worth and not have to deal with the hassle of photo sharing between yourselves.

I feel like in the busier locations, they take a photo as quick as possible without looking to see if the photo is actually decent. We had a lot of pictures that were taken when we weren't quite ready, eyes closed, etc., All things that could have easily been remedied if they stopped and looked before moving us along.
I was very pleased that I decided to get Memory Maker for our trip a couple of weeks ago. We were in the parks for 6 days and ended up with over 500 photos and another 50+ stock photos of WDW.
Really, the fantastic up close pictures of both my kids during Jedi Training were worth the cost!
That said, there were no photographers at either of character meals (Akershus lunch and Hollywood & Vine lunch) so we took our own photos/videos then with a combo of our phones and our point and shoot digital camera.

We get free pictures now because they added them to annual passes but I think the memory maker is worth it. We always got it. If you do bippity boppity boutique, they take pictures there then they have a free photo session at castle couture afterwards. Jedi training pictures. My oldest did a special kids only tea party at the grand Floridian and they took pictures the entire time so we got to see what they did. Plus at Christmas time they gave photographers by the trees in the lobbies of the deluxe hotels.

It was worth it for us, we got some really great shots. I actually wish we would have stopped at more photography spots while we were wandering around the parks.
