I did work as it was easiest. Social Security Card Driver's License
I don't believe I needed to do any of them first. Sit down and set aside time to change every single credit card/bank card or you will end up still having credit cards in your married name four years later... not that I know from experience or anything....
Don't forget paypal! I realized just now my paypal is still in my married name. I tried to change it but they need copies of everything too.....ain't nobody got time for that now haha

You need to change your social security card first. Once you do that, you get a letter saying that it the change is processing and you should be able to use that letter to change your drivers license (along with all the other paperwork you'll need). Once those are both done, you should be able to change everything else easily.
"Everything happens for a reason, people change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they're right, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can come together." ~Marilyn Monroe

I used my divorce decree since it declared I could legally change my name back to get my DL. Perhaps this differs state by state.

This. And go online and make an app't at the SS office, you will be seen super fast that way.
SS was first for me and then everything else followed. It was kind of annoying that some places wanted forms notarized, even though I had the final court document indicating that the name change was complete.
I did SS, DL, and then bank in that order on the day I got the decree. Then I did the on-line ones like cell phone, utilities, etc. I had to wait until I had my new SS card in the mail before I could change it at work. I had never actually bothered to change Paypal when I got married because it was a PITA so that worked out, lol.

All this makes me glad I didn't change my name when I got married. I liked my name so I never legally changed it. Seemed like such a PITA to change everything. Then I got divorced and never so happy in my life that I never changed my name.

I will never ever change my name again. Sorry future husband/partner/person.
I didn't find it frustrating to change my name either time. Maybe it depends on where you live? I legally changed my name to a new-to-me last name after my divorce and even that was really easy. I'll probably hyphenate my name in the future if I ever do marry again.

I would have no problems using his last name socially but go through the hoops to change it ... oh hell no. His ln, Her ln, DD's ln - bring on the 3 ln household
Last Friday I initiated my drivers license change and yesterday submitted the paperwork for social security. I've encountered some unexpected obstacles and it hasn't been a seamless process, but with some trial and error I think I'm just about squared away.
