Going straight from airport to park?

Does anyone do this? It was not our original plan, but now I'm considering it. We are arriving at 9:30 am a day earlier than we planned so I don't have any reservations or anything for that day. Check in is not until 3. So I am thinking about going to Animal Kingdom straight from the airport and then that will build a rest day into our trip. Pros/cons?

Well, I think Magical Express only takes you to the resort you are booked at (though, I guess you could get off any stop on your bus). If we go to a park the day we arrive, we usually check in at the hotel, drop off our carryons, eat & then take off. And plenty of times our room was ready before 3 anyway.

You will most likely be able to get into your room earlier than 3:00. Both times we've gone, DH got a text upon arrival (morning) that our room was ready. 

If youre taking magical express they'll drop you off at the resort, and you can hop on a bus to AK when you get there.

We usually go to Downtown Disney (shh yes I know it's Disney Springs now.. I can't get used to it, lol) the day we get there. Wander the shops, eat, etc. Just another suggestion if you don't want to jump right into the parks!
