So I've been teaching yoga for a little over a year and a half (it'll be 2 years in July). Most of this has been volunteer/free classes at my work, but last summer I started beer yoga at the #1 brewery in NM and started subbing at the hot yoga studio I've been going to for years. Working at the studio was for free, but the owner gave me a free unlimited membership ($100/month - so that's a pretty great deal for me!). Well, last night I went to one of the owner's classes and got there a little early to help out around the studio. She pulled me aside and said she noticed I'm on the schedule quite a bit and has heard great reviews from students, so she's adding me to the payroll! I'm officially working for the studio now! Next up is getting my own class...all I have to do is figure out when I want it since we have an extra room that no one uses at one of the studios!
I'll never be able to quit my job and do this (unless we make some major lifestyle changes, or if I opened my own studio), but OMG how is this my life?! Trust me, I like my job, but I just can't wrap my head around the fact that I'm getting paid to do what I absolutely love!

That's fantastic!
It's obvious that your passion and expertise is helping others and that you are being recognized for it! That's about the best thing anyone can ask for and I'm so happy for you that you are getting these opportunities to do what you love!

That's awesome! I remember before I left Utah and I did some aerial substitute teaching and was like... how am I doing my dream job?! Even if it's only part time, it's the best feeling. I'm so happy for you!
Awesome! Now that I am almost done with my 200 hour training, I have so much more respect for yoga instructors. Teaching it is just so much talking! Good for you!
