We are doing our first DCL cruise this November (Bahamas/Castaway Cay) and if we love it, we plan to book a longer cruise next Feb with a Star Wars Day at Sea.
We did one in January. For us, it was a last minute deal, much cheaper than a regular priced 7 night cruise. We like Star Wars, but aren't super fans and my kids (6, 4.5, and 1) have never seen it. I'm not sure we would have paid a premium for just that one day though.
If you are a big fan, it's probably Amazing and totally worth it! There were tons of things to do related to Star Wars, and they played all the movies and the newest one which was still in the theaters. Even the ship whistle was the Death March song instead of the normal Disney whistle. Lots of details for sure.
Tons of cruisers were so decked out it was hard to tell if they were crew members, lol. Some people are really into their Star Wars.
Unfortunately, DD was seasick for part of it, so we didn't enjoy the whole cruise 100%.
