My flippin' knees are driving me crazy. I had ACL reconstruction in my early 30s and I know I put a lot of strain on them in my athletic years, but darn it, I want to be able to jog w/o pain. I do lift weights, which helps, but I feel so much older due to my knees. Bah!
I've got something going on with my right foot. It's either plantar fascitis or something. I'm hobbling around like a really, really old woman. Ice helps and not going barefoot but I think I might need to break down and go to the doctor. I'm worried he'll say "Well, ma'am, you're so freakin' fat your infrastructure just can't take the weight!" Arg!
This is exactly where I am. I'm pretty sure it's plantar fasciitis in my right foot, especially since it's far worse when I've been sitting with my feet up or first thing in the morning.
But worse than that is the cold. I slipped and fell in the street 10 years ago and my back has never been the same. And now the moment I get even the slightest bit cold, my back tightens up and starts screaming at me.
I've always had slight scoliosis, but my lower back (right at hip) is developing arthritis. As long as I can keep it in position it's fine, but that is getting harder to do. Pilates helps, but it's hard to do pilates when my hip is out. My Chiro is my buddy.
Sinus headaches. Pretty sure it's not arthritis in my head, however. I'm tired of headaches. Does anyone have a good remedy?
I swear by Excedrin Migraine and an ICE COLD, regular, full-strength, full-sugar Dr. Pepper. I keep a supply on hand and call them my "medicinal Dr. Peppers" and dare DH to touch them.
I also find as much as I want to curl up in a ball in bed, my head fells so much better if I'm sitting upright.
My back is shot..2 herniated discs, 1 bulging, spinal stenosis, nerve compression, and a few other things. I've been having ablations for the last year and a half on my back and it has helped A LOT, but it isn't permanent and I have to go back every 7-9 months.
I get migraines weekly (usually on the weekends). I've tried everything and waiting it out seems to be the only solution most of the time.
I had one all day yesterday and it was likely from the weather changes. I woke up today without one and now I get to work and my co-worker has on really strong perfume which triggered another headache.
So, my head is my problem body part in more ways that one! LOL Well, I have other body parts that have issues, but my head is the one that gives me the most grief.

My flat feet are getting worse, and it's not helping that Iv'e taken up running again on the treadmill. Plus my weight is making the bottom of my feet ache. I can't even sit w/them on floor for every long or they will start to hurt. I'm serioulsy considering buying the Foot Angel sock thingy, but you can only buy them in singles, lol.

I totally bought the Foot Angel and I think it's helping. Only my right foot is bothering me so I only needed one. I've been icing my foot twice a day and wearing the Foot Angel overnight. Also, I bought Dr. Scholls heel pads and put them in whatever shoes I'm wearing. Losing 30 pounds would probably help, too, but seems more problematic.
For me it's both of my feet and I sit all day, but I can't put my feet up, so when I get home they ache so much. I'm trying to lose some weight, I think if I can get back to the 160 range my feet might ache less. I use the Dr. Scholls athletic series, they say to change them every 6mths, but since I wear them everyday 4days exercising I have to change them more often, but at 25.00 bucks a pop it adds up. LOL

Not really a pain, but I have terrible swelling in my lower legs and feet. And it never goes away. When I wake up in the morning it's better, but by the end of the day it's bad. I have some days that are better than others. I've been to the doctor and had a million and one tests and everything is normal. Basically it just happens to some people.
I'm really hoping that if I lose some weight (I'm at my heaviest I've ever been) and start to exercise again it will help.

Have you tried the compression socks that are used on airplanes?
THey really do work. I usually get so swollen onplanes, but last time I still had ankles and could get shoes on when I landed
Add me to the migraine club. I have one to two a week, with botox and preventative meds. Without all that, it's like every other day. Add to that I'm allergic to a lot of the common pain medications usually prescribed. It is a pain in the ass to have to live on the couch in the dark multiple days a week. Doctors said that the headaches would stop with menopause, but no one told my head. They increased instead. I tell my husband that if someone said dancing naked in the moonlight with a frog would cure them, I'd be out there in a heartbeat!!
Constant pain on both shoulders. It used to be awful tendinitis in both wrists that was worse, but I changed keyboards to fix that and now my shoulders pay hell instead. I need to buckle down on my physical therapy exercises.
I also have/had plantar fasciatis. Even though my shoes had better support, they still weren't right for my feet. So I changed a couple pairs that I wear all the time and now have less pain, definitely no more limping. Stretch your calves and feet when you get up in the morning, that will help. And never go barefoot.

My DH actually suggested the same thing. I need to pick some up.
I have a pair of leggings that are more of a compression type and I wore those last week with tall boots and I was actually surprised how little swelling I had by the end of the day.
Every morning when I get out of bed, I hobble to the bathroom. My heels are KILLING ME for the first few minutes of every day. I don't get it.
Same here! One thing that helps is slipping on a pair of Crocs that I keep by the side of the bed (totally old lady-ish, I know). Not walking barefoot really helps.
I've had this same issue. I thought it was plantar fasciitis. As long as I don't move too quickly when I get up before they've warmed up I'm OK. It's the worst when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, because I'm trying not to wake up all the way so I can get back to sleep.
mrsukyankee, how does lifting weights help bad knees? One of my BFFs has had many years of knee trouble, like you was an athlete and had reconstructive surgery. I know she doesn't lift weights, maybe she should?
As for my body part complaint - my ears. I've always had a little tinnitus; in the last few months it has gotten really bad. Like, I can't hear low talking or quiet music any more because the ringing is so loud. I don't know what I did - maybe nothing? - to make it worse but it's getting me down to think this annoying ringing could be with me for the rest of my life.

Can I add hips to this? I've recently had to start sleeping with one of those pillows you put between your knees, otherwise I wake in the middle of the night with sore hips. I'm sure my weight gain has had something to do with that as well.
All of the parts! Okay maybe not all of the parts but many of the parts.
I have pretty much given up that I will ever run/job regularly anymore. I do walk 2-3 miles every day with the dog. The walking has been amazing to build the muscles around my left knee up since I had surgery several years ago. It also has been helping with my "muffin top". In June I will have been walking regular for 1 year.
My feet were bothering me for a spell, so I bought new shoes and then added insoles. Oh yeah, and dropped my daily heel size down an inch or two. Doesn't look as good with my work business suits, but hey, I am an "olds" now, and I will be taking liberties! Also foot exercises, mainly stretching the opposite of a high heel position, has been tremendously helpful for my calves.
