Is not all pickles and ice cream, yo.
I didn't realize how dead I would be for these first weeks. I'm 9 weeks today and have been straight lazy since 6 weeks.
My typical day: Wake up at 7:30, get to work at 8 (put makeup on there...if I mess with it at all), take a nap on my lunch hour, get home at 5:15, nap for 2-3 hours, watch TV, get to bed about 10 or 11.
DH got a great promotion, but it means he works until at least 10 every night. I'm not cooking because the man won't eat leftovers and, honestly, I just don't have the energy.
Thank God for Miko or I would be very lonely with DH gone all of the time. Even then, the dog makes me feel guilty because he's used to going to the dog park or playing with his girlfriend (the dobie next door) for hours at a time, not just a 30 minute walk once a day and half-hearted fetch down the hallway at night.
Should I break down and send him to doggy daycare (he'd have to get some more vaccs, which I am against), or hope I get more energy soon? Anyone use a dogwalker? I feel like a walk isn't enough for him, he really needs social time with other pups.

I am having the most absolutely miserable time. I thought it was supposed to get better in the second trimester but I may be one of the "lucky ones" who feels like complete crap the entire time. So I totally understand.

I totally didn't answer your question. If you can afford a dog walker or doggy daycare I would totally take advantage of it. There is nothing like a wired dog (or three) to drive you totally crazy when you are wiped out.
I'm almost done (37 weeks). In my experience, the last trimester is the worst as far as meeting your dog's needs. It's a lot tougher to go for a walk, bend over to pick up a toy, etc. I send my dogs to daycare about once a week now, sometimes less. I gauge it by the amount of energy they display around the house. When they're getting too wired, time for daycare. They come home soooo tired, it's great to just snuggle with them on the couch.

During my 1st trimester was the only time I've ever not picked up Molly's poop. It was one time - there was a foot of snow on the ground, and she pooped a few feet in from where it was shoveled. Between the exhaustion and nausea, I just couldn't walk the extra few feet in the snow.
I did get my energy back eventually. I walked Molly until I got to about 38/39 weeks, and even then I'd do short ones. Of course, then I couldn't walk her for about 2 weeks after Abby was born, but DH was awesome.

I don't remember being exhausted during my 1st Tri, but Dave tells me that's because I was asleep for so much of it.
We had a dogwalker for Reese and Carl in the mid-afternoons, but that was b/c we both worked 8+ hour days and 1.5-hour roundtrip commutes.
2nd Tri, energy (and appetite) came back.
I still felt pretty good into my 3rd Tri - like the others said, bending over was a bit tough (slip-on shoes are your friend), but I still had to walk the dogs b/c Dave was staying late at work for Social Group with his autistic students to pick up extra money, and the dogs needed to pee.

It's good to know that there's a chance it'll get better! I took Miko to the dog park last night and he was one happy pup... I'll just have to pull myself together and do that more often.
I TOTALLY understand. I was miserable for at least 5 wks, (11wks today!) and I'm just beginning to feel kinda "normal" again.
At 7pm every night I start feeling sickly and pukey. However, a small waffle bowl of ice cream tends to make it better!
I wasn't hungry at all either until recently and I lost 7lbs at my appt yesterday since my last one three weeks ago. They're making me come back in 2wks instead of the normal 4.
Taking less naps too! H has been awesome - he's been cleaning, takes care of the dogs/pets and cleans the cat and rabbit. Last week I was able to be outside with them for hours so the dogs got extra play/exercise time! (Except Dakota, who tried to eat the neighbor dog and had to go inside).

Hang in there! Hopefully you feel better soon. The exhaustion was sporadic for me I think, but the nausea was all 9 months. Ugh! I can't believe I'm considering doing this again!

Today is the first day that I've had energy in weeks, which is strange considering that I only got a few hours of sleep last night. Thanks for giving me hope!

Speaking of sleep, don't you want to slap people who tell you to get sleep now because you won't get any when the baby comes? Fuck you. Besides the fact that you can't sleep more and bank it for later, it's nearly impossible to sleep well when you're pregnant, no matter how tired you are. It's a perfect storm of anxiety, having to pee, and general discomfort.

Or is that just me?
I'm surprised we got any sleep at all since it sounds like we were all in the same bed.
