Hmmm I'm not sure. I did the same thing and my sis and mom cleared out the wishlist for me and gave it all to me on Easter. But I'm not sure how you're getting to a grand, haha! Maybe the nursing clothes? I just wear yoga pants or maternity jeans and got a few cheapie nursing bras and tanks since mine got ruined with lanolin/nipple cream/baby spit-up etc last time. But I know the nicer brands can run pricey.
I'm not really sure because both my parents and my ILs have offered to pay for some of the big ticket items. The most we spent was the car seat. There is a 7 year gap between DD and this one so we didn't have a lot that we saved. We have actually recieved a lot of hand me downs and I have bought a couple of clothes. I think in all I might have spent around $300.
I'd guess I will be around 1k as well, but $500 of that will be a double BOB, and probably $200-250 for a double monitor. Other than that, I want to get a few more bottles, and I'll get stuff like more shampoo, tylenol, etc. Probably a few more nursing bras/tanks for myself.
That doesn't include DD's big girl furniture, or a pump, which will be covered by insurance.
So far, about $500 on a dresser, bookshelf, and misc nursery items/decor. $150 on a new video monitor. Maybe $100 on baby clothes.
I'm sure we will easily spend $1k total. We will reuse a lot of stuff from DD including crib, stroller and carseat so that saves a lot. But there are all these little things that add up plus I'm reusing so much I can justify a few splurges.
I think we will be over $1K. We are going to need: --All new nursery furniture (DS will only be 18 months and still in a crib). --Crib sheets --Gas drops (these were total miracles with DS) --Double stroller --Bottles and nipples --Pacifiers --Monitor (probably just a cheap regular one) --Car seat canopy (DS was not born in a cold season so we never used one) --Baby book --If a girl, clothes. If not, we don't need a single item of clothing for any size whatsoever....but I'm sure I'll buy some anyway.
Hmm I haven't tried to calculate anything yet but DS will need a twin bed and new dresser because his stuff will go to baby's room and we'll need a double stroller. Those things alone will add up. I'm hoping I can just add another camera into our Motorola.
oceanspray We actually kept pretty much everything.
This is what I have on my registry:
Infant Optics Video Monitor with an extra camera - our Motorola bit the dust last summer and my husband MacGuyvered it to work, sort of, but it's like a walking fire hazard. - I think video monitors are overkill, but I realize I'm in the minority Little Remedies Gas Relief Drops Little Remedies Infant Pain Reliever Nose Frida filters new pnp mattress cover - did you lose the one you had? Dream On 3, new pnp mattress, since I imagine the baby will be sleeping in our room for a little longer than Thor did and the one the pnp comes with seems so uncomfortable. meh, I think it's fine w/a sheet reusable breast pads/bamboobies - I did disposable last time and they chaffed Motherlove Organic Diaper Rash Relief - Head-Ear Thermometer - for both boys, it's impossible to get Thor's temps lately Lansinoh bm bags x3 - probably can wait to buy these (does your insurance provide them?) 2x MAM infant pacifier 2-count set - do you have any leftover? If not, no worries. Motherlove Nipple Cream - meh, didn't do much for me, try aquaphor Organic Baby Eczema Cream - probably good to have on hand, I'd pick this or the other lotion below 3x Baby Starters Textured Dot Blanket (this became our first son's security blanket so we ended up with 3, in case, and I figure might as well prepared for the second round) Bunnies By the Bay Buddy - crossing off b/c I don't know what this is Aden + Anais organic crib sheet - we have two crib sheets, but I guess this is a splurge since I feel the new baby should have at least one set that was his from the start - meh, if you really want but probably unnecessary esp now since you plan on using the PNP for a while Earth Mama Baby Lotion - I never seem to use lotion, I have tons from DS Earth Mama Baby Shampoo/Showergel - do you have baby wash for your LO already? Chewbeads stroller chew toy - meh, see if you need more toys
My splurges: 2x cake nursing tanks and bras (this is probably 300 dollars of the 1k, but the others add up too somehow!) - Target nursing tanks
If you have the cash, go for it. Personally, I'm trying to spend as little as possible on #2. Above is what I would probably take off the list for now. No shame in keeping them on your wish list
I think you could wait to pull the trigger on several things on your list. It may require your DH to run to CVS, but that's NBD.
We have a 4 year age gap and barely spent anything. I got an Auto Rock N Play from a local mom. We're reusing all of DS's stuff. We got DS a new bed/dresser so that was really the big splurge! We have the PNP, swing, co-sleeper, etc already.
We didn't need carseats... DS #2 will get DS #1's old bucket seat, and then convertible once he grows out of the bucket. We'll get a new carseat for DS #1 at that point as he'll be closer to 5 then.
I did buy myself a new baby carrier (Lillebaby) but it was $150 and I'm getting $150 for participating in my insurance's "healthy babies" program, so I'm considering that a wash.

We are reusing all of gn nursery items, bucket seat, crib/mattress, rocker, etc.
I am buying the following items:
Auto RnP New paci's/nipples for bottles we already have New clothes (boy last time, girl this time) diapers maybe a new carrier new dresser for one child, not sure which one yet
It should be less than $500 for everything. She has already gotten a ton of "gifted" clothes since we announced girl... like all the nb and 0-3 we will need!
I don't even want to think about it. We're going to hold off on the double stroller until we feel like we need it (if we need it). We're also not planning on transitioning DS to a bed until the baby is out of our room so we won't need to buy a bed/mattress set until 2017. We're having a girl but I don't anticipate more expenses because of it - I have a bunch of boy clothing to consign so that'll help defray the cost of new clothing. I would probably buy more stuff for a boy anyways, lol.
My list of stuff includes: Dresser for the nursery (probably Ikea) Rug for the nursery Slipcover for glider and ottoman Wall décor and lamp for the nursery Crib sheets (again, we can wait on this but if I see a sale I'll grab them) Bookshelves for the nursery (probably the Ikea ones everyone uses) Diaper pail Changing pad Infant insert for the Ergo Nosefrida filters Lovey 3-pack Hairbow and outfit with my college mascot Replacement nipples Pacifiers Side snap bodysuits Drool bibs Mittens Swaddles Swaddle blankets Towels/washcloths Stroller handle cover Lulaclips Convertible car seat (just in case someone wants to buy us a nice gift lol)
Replacement tubing for my pump
We'll just purchase toiletries/medications/diapers on a random Target run closer to my due date.
ETA: Oh yeah, and probably a couple of nursing bras. I wasn't a big fan of tanks last time. I prefer to wear stretchy non-maternity tanks over a bra.
For us it will be a lot b/c DD will only be 20 months and we'll need another crib, changing table, basically the whole nursery set up. Luckily I can convert my stroller to a double so it's not super expensive, and the incidentals will be minimal. No significant clothing costs, #2 is a girl, so that's good.
We will get a new swing. The one we have barely works.
I'm not sure on nursery furniture. We'll see as we get closer. There will be 21 months between kiddos. I don't want to move dd out of the crib that early but I am also unsure if I want to buy a new crib, dresser/changing table. Might just get a full size mattress for dd and move her to a bedframe we already own.
Other then that very little. Burp rags Replacement nipples Trashcan
Depending on if we are having a boy or girl maybe some new clothes.

Outside of nursery expenses, I believe we will only be investing in a second monitor as DD #1 will only be 23 months when #2 is due. I'm thinking having the same gender is helpful, otherwise I'd be spending unnecessarily on cute infant clothes!
My list is pretty similar to yours. I need to replace our motorola monitor (barely works) with a different two-camera system. I'm debating about getting a rock n play (didn't have one the first time but we survived somehow, lol). Our kids will be different sexes, but the nursery is gender neutral so I won't be replacing any of that. I will need some new clothes, though. I'd like to get a boppy lounger, another white noise machine, a new diaper pail (threw DS's out a while ago), a manual pump (didn't have one last time), and probably a new changing table (the one we have is flimsy and falling apart). And then some breastfeeding supplies. My Amazon list is at about $700 right now, but I don't really NEED all of that.
I don't want to even think about how much we will spend. We have two older daughters, but we relocated out of state last year and gave away/sold a lot of our baby stuff. Gave all of our clothing to my sister (lives out of state). We may be able to arrange to borrow back some of our clothing. But we'll have to buy almost everything else and 2 of everything since we're having twins!
We also are building a new house (started before we found out about the pregnancy) and will have to get 2 new cars that can fit 4 car seats, do I win for the largest amount spent???
