I have a simple sapphire ring. It's my birthstone and I was given it as a present when I turned 18 from my sister. It's just a simple band with a single stone. It's beautiful. Looks similar to this. She actually had the jeweler make it. He took a simple setting and she picked out the exact sapphire stone she wanted and he set it.

That's gorgeous! I want one, but stupid emeralds are so expensive! I should get one though, since it is both mine and my DD's birthstone, right?

I got the "lab created" emerald for my ring (mine looks e-ring-ish but I can post a pic if you want). I splurged (well, really DH) because it was for a milestone birthday, but I love it so much that it was worth it!
I got an Imperial Topaz ring made at a local stone shop because I wasn't a fan of DD's modern birthstone (yellow citrine). Imperial Topaz is apparently the original birthstone and it comes in various colors that range from peach, orange, and yellow. I got a peach stone set in rose gold because those colors remind me of DD as a newborn (she had lots of coral and peach colored clothes and nursery decor).
I have stacking infinity rings with birthstones of my kids, but I think one would look great on it's own. Purchased on etsy with authentic stones, total was about $100 for two (emerald one about 2/3, rhodolite garnet 1/3).
Can I ask what people do in this regard with a kid who has an April birthday? So not only is it just one stone, it's a diamond - which looks totally engagement-like in every design I have seen. My solution thus far has been a thumbprint necklace but I'd really love a ring.
I really like the north-south vitage-y ones. I think that they look the least like an e-ring.
I would probably see if a local jeweler could design it to fit my budget. And if I had meaningful diamonds in the family (maybe a pair of studs, etc.), I would try to use them.
The green one is my mother's ring. The blue is DH's birthstone; he just liked the color. The diamond is the one my parents bought me when I graduated from high school. Diamonds are my birthstone.

Well I'm still trying to finagle a 2nd band/mothers ring, but isn't biting.
A friend got a right hand ring that had diamonds and sapphires as her push present and it would look good with all diamonds too.

These are pretty! Do you have the link to the seller?

Yes to a picture please! I love jewelry.
Not sure why it looks blue in the pic... it's very green.
