In case I didn't flood the board enough last week with the Cambridge India/Bhutan tour ...
Here are Princes William and Harry talking to the cast of Star Wars.
I love how Harry and Chewy are having a regular conversation like they're discussing what to order for lunch or something, while BB-8 is just beeping around on the ground.
Also, I had no idea that John Boyega was British until after I saw the movie. His American accent was flawless. (Although the film wasn't even set on Earth, so why did it matter whether he had a British or an American accent?)
(ETA: I'll add the new Swedish royal baby in here so I don't clog up the board.)
OK, I'm showing my Star Wars ignorance here (I only saw the Original Trilogy right before we went to see The Force Awakens around Christmas) ... who are the men next to Mark Hamill and in between John Boyega and Chewy?
ETA: Twitter is telling me that the guy next to Hamill is Rian Johnson, who will write and direct Episode VIII.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
Agreed - I know the family likes to use unexpected names, but I'd be shocked if Bertil isn't used at all. Twitter is banking on Bertil being the first name.
Sofia's father is named Erik so I assume that'll probably be in there as well.
I wonder if this baby will continue the Carl Something tradition. Carl Erik Bertil, maybe?
Here's Prince Carl Philip announcing the birth. Looks like he's selling OxyClean with that headset:
The Te Deum has been pushed back to Friday but the name of the new Swedish Prince will still be announced tomorrow and the Council meeting where the King will announce the name has been pushed to Thursday. GAH!
Also, the Brits just released a photo (a series of stamps, actually) to mark the queens 90th birthday. Four generations of monarchs (and she's wearing one of the Queen Mother's brooches, so five generations are represented).
Carl Philip is fourth in line, and the new baby is fifth, so I guess they have some breathing room
Although a few people on Twitter pointed out that, if Sweden hadn't passed the absolute primogeniture law - meaning, the eldest child gets the throne regardless of sex - in 1980, there would've been two future kings in this photo. (And if Carl Philip had remained the crown prince, I'm sure he would've been highly discouraged from marrying Sofia.)
But here's a pic of the future queen taking her own future queen home, and this is also very relaxed:
