Here is one of him sleeping. He is an expert sleeper...
Really he has expertise at two things: sleeping and expending energy! We adopted him from our local PAWS...he started out there as a puppy--then he got adopted--and then the person who had him for a year returned him . We had been looking at him online for a little while--and then went there to see another dog. We saw him and we both thought he was awesome.
It's funny--we live in GA now too (we moved lol)--and people down here LOVE him...like kids and adults. Kids will yell out when they see him..."That's the kind of dawg (yes dawg) i want!" and adults are usually into the fact that he's a pointer.

Oh! He can run now! He has really good endurance--he easily does 6 milers. We haven't been running too much b/c of the heat right now. Also he can pull HARD on the leash. It kind of makes my arm tired.
Any tips for helping with that? We use an easy walk harness (we also don't really like that--he has thin hair coverage on his little chest and it rubs a lot and I'm thinking of getting another kind of easy walker...)

That is awesome! So many dogs with higher energy really need exercise like running to make them happy, normal dogs.
Cal used to pull a TON on his leash and it's sort of gotten better with time. It took him a while to realize that pulling wasn't getting him anywhere, and that we do not stop to smell the roses when we're running. I think he kind of thinks running is his job now; he's very serious about it!
We used a Gentle Leader sometimes. It rubbed a bald spot on his nose, but it really really worked. We used another harness that pinched his shoulders a little if he pulled too hard, but he didn't care at all and kept pulling. He's older now (6 or 7), and he has a martingale collar. That seems to do the trick. That, or just getting older.

Aww thanks! You are right--he (his name is Ned) is very serious about his jobs. If it's ball..he's all about ball..when it's time to do walks..that's the job. Snowdog--is seriously food motivated about her jobs--she will do ANYTHING for a treat and will be totally focused on it!
Ned kind of acts like treats are annoying when he's working--the work IS the treat haha--I've heard that before but never seen it.
Anyways. Yeah--when we get running he's not horrible about pulling...but he still loves to be out in front--I see other dogs running perfectly alongside their owners--I feel jealous
One more funny thing about him..right now it's probably...90 degrees and the sun is baking our driveway...I went outside to the composter really quick..Ned comes...I turn around--the dog is sprawled out on the HOT driveway soaking up the sun. He LOVES it...his little belly turns bright pink. He was looking at me like 'Lay down mom. Soak up the heat with me."
I love Ned My two are both sunbathers, but Eddie's better about going in the shade after a bit (good thing too b/c he'd totally get sunburned since his fur is so short). Georgie would lay on our deck in the sun all day if I'd let her!

Thank you Lori. He's a good dog. We really, really enjoy him in our family! He sounds a lot like your dog--I know he loves being inside with us but he also LOVES the outdoors, sun and heat. I worry he needs dog sunscreen!
