We have a few hot pepper plants in pots. We've been putting them outside during the day, but bringing them in at night because it is still getting fairly cool (low 50's). Two of them are doing pretty well, but one has very droopy leaves. I thought maybe it wasn't getting enough water, but the soil ~1" down felt damp. I still gave it more water which then just sat in the saucer under the pot. Then I read online that drooping leaves could be a sign of too much water so we held off watering for over a day. Still seems to be struggling.
Any thoughts? The pot seems to be large enough, and we put in fresh potting soil when we planted it a few weeks ago. We also added some E.B. Stone organic tomato and vegetable food to the soil.
Don't give it anymore water until the soil dries out some. Also, is it very hot where you are yet? My pepper plants tend to get droopy when it's really hot outside.

It isn't too hot. Over the weekend it got into the low 80's, but generally it's been in the low 70's. But we do have it on our deck, against the house, facing south. So maybe it has been too hot for it. However should it perk back up when we bring it in overnight?
Oh that's not too hot. That's perfect weather. When I say too hot, I'm talking 90+ degrees. I live in TN. It gets hot quick here. Just don't water it until it starts to dry out and see if that helps.
