Since we already have a sci-fi thread going, I thought maybe we could concentrate on other specific genres too. So what's some of your favorite NA books?
For those who don't know, New Adult (NA) is fiction where the protagonists are generally between the ages of 18 to 30, the plot usually involves some romance, and touches on common new adult experiences like going to college or starting a new job. Some popular author examples are Colleen Hoover, Jamie McGuire, Jessica Sorenson, Jennifer Armentrout, and Tammara Webber for reference.
Rachel Schurig's Ransom (5 book series). Amazon has book 1 for free, so you can see if catches your interest. I'm on book 4 and I will say the story got better after the first book. The story revolves around the Ransome brothers who are in a rock and roll band. Each book has 2 characters telling the story from their point of view.
Her other books Lovestruck were just ok. Once again got hooked by the first book being free, lol.

I really enjoy this genre....probably because I can relate thing. Surprisingly I found some good free ones on either B & N or Amazon. I'll have to go through my list and see which ones I really liked.
I love Colleen Hoover dearly, but I have to space out my reads. It's too emotionally exhausting.
DO NOT read Beautiful Disaster unless you want to hate everyone. The ratings were good, but my Goodreads friends all disliked it. I should have listened to them. The first half of the book was decent and then I just wanted to nut punch every one of them.
Same goes with Taking Chances by Molly McAdams. Avoid avoid avoid.

I enjoyed the first Lovestruck in London book by her. It was light but cheery, I thought. There's another book I believe I got for free that was decent called "All Over The Place" by Serena Clarke and I remember liking the book "How I Came to Sparkle Again" by Kaya McLaren
I've really enjoyed all of Colleen Hoover's books but I can't binge read them. They ARE emotionally exhausting! I haven't really read any other authors in this genre.

I'm not a big reader of this genre but I did really like Easy by Tammara Webber. I think that was well done. There's also Breakable which was the same story as Easy but in the guy's perspective. I liked that just as much.
I'm trying to think if I've actually read any books that could be categorized here. Would series/books like the Hunger Games, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Throne of Glass be YA still?
Standalone: Kane's Hell by Elizabeth Finn (PLEASE ignore the terrible book cover and title; this is a dark story and it's gut wrenching but loved this book, loved, loved, loved it) Kyland and Archer's Voice, both books by Mia Sheridan (though I don't really care for her other books I have read as much) Unravel by Calia Read (this is book is all kinds of crazy, literally and figuratively, but in the very best way) Easy by Tammara Webber (technically this is a series, but the first book is a standalone and I haven't read the others)
Also, I just discovered this list on GR: www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/new-adult I'm not sure how they determine what is 'popular' though since it doesn't seem to be sorted based on number of ratings or by average rating.

I liked Easy and didn't realize there was another book.

I love Colleen Hoover books, can't wait for the next one. I loved Easy too, but not the others in this series. Easy was fine on its own. I loved the Ten Tiny Breath Series by KA Tucker. Just read her newest stand alone book He Will Be My Ruin and enjoyed that one too. I also love Jaime McGuire's books. The Beautiful Disaster series, the Maddox Brothers series, & loved the Red Hill series. I like Gayle Forman and Jennifer Echols books too, not sure it they are considered NA or YA.
