Greetings from the class of '96 reunion! I just wanted to share this here because I'm pretty excited about it. Some of you on IG may have seen this. On Friday I went to my 20 year high school reunion. It was awesome!!!! The planners picked a beautiful place. It was at a country club in a gorgeous ballroom. They made name tags using everyone's yearbook photo and they made a memorial tree with photos of the students and teachers from our clas that have passed away. There was also a photo booth and a hookah lounge outside in a tent. Plus it was open bar and the food was good. The DJ was awesome too! We danced a lot. There were also programs with info about things that happened in 1996, a huge cake with our mascot's photo - blue devils - a small cake treat take home favor, and they crowned a king and queen of the reunion, whom everyone voted for. They also had some posters of pages of the yearbook posted around the room. I thought those were some cute details. And I'm amazed that the planners did all that for $90/pp. They did this right. I think around 50 -70 people from our 200 person class were there. I wasn't sure if I would remember a lot of people (I moved away for college and only return once or twice a year to visit my family plus I'm not on FB) but I started remembering people as I saw them. We talked about silly high school memories and our current lives. My high school was pretty diverse and didn't have a popular or non popular crowd. Everyone just kind of blended and accepted everyone else. Also there were a lot of classmates that I went to school with since 4th grade so it wasn't like it was just a high school reunion for me. I am so glad I went. It was a great experience I thanked the planners for all their time and energy and encouraged them to do a 25 year reunion too. If they do it, I will be there!
You look great and it sounds like so much fun! My high school class hasn't yet had a proper reunion, which is kind of sad. I'm jealous your classmates have it together to plan such a great event!
Our 20th was the biggest flop. People wanted it to be family friendly so it got pushed back to a 21st. The organizers started in DECEMBER polling for dates, rented pavillions for a family picnic on Saturday and happy hour on Friday at a local bar. AND NO ONE CAME! Seriously, everyone who made a big f'ing stink about it didn't even bother to come. It was pathetic. I felt terrible for the planners. The picnic was cancelled and we still had the happy hour and there was maybe 20 people from our 600 person class. It was sad but I had a blast and reconnected with some fabulous people so it was their loss.

NO WAY YOU GRADUATED 20 YEARS AGO.
i skipped my 10 year reunion, because it was such a mess....like $60 per person, NO OPEN BAR, and it was in a conference room/"ballroom" of the local college. no thank you. can i come to your 25 year one instead?? lol
Our 10 yr was the worst. I went to a rural school and it was just at a park with BYOB/dish to pass. I am totally not going to any more. I'll echo callmehales and ask to attend your next one lol. Looks like a great time!!
You look great! That's awesome that you had so much fun. My ten year was a bust, it got cancelled because not enough people were interested. I'm pretty sure we won't be having more either...
You look fabulous and so glad you had such a fun time. When my 10 year rolled around it was awkward as hell because the HS I graduated from was brand new. So it was a mixture of three schools and everybody was pissed. Nobody wanted to acknowledge the new school. So the class of '00 was the first graduating class. Then mine in '01. So come time to plan the reunion the FB page started out as my H.S. but then somebody ended up changing it to the 01 class reunion for one of the feeder schools. Really weird. I didn't have a dog in the fight since we had just moved back to the states from Korea the year the school opened and had no friends to really reconnect with at the reunion. So of course, I had no interest to go.
