I don't think they are terrible. Then again, I buy $8-12 sunglasses from Target since I lose or break them so often. Maybe I'm the wrong person to answer.
THey don't seem all that different than what I see a lot of women wearing. They are kind of squarish and not too huge, right?
I've found that cheap sunglasses - one of the arms ALWAYS falls off. The screw unscrews and I eventually lose it. I had DH get me a nicer pair and he got me Michael Kors and I think they were around $60. They've been great for about 2 years now. Not an issue.
Point- there is an inbetween from cheap (that may not last) and spending hundreds.
DH has Oakleys and is always getting on me about buying nice sunglasses but he's almost lost his like 30 times. Mine have been sat on a few times. I bought them from a lovely rest stop on the Ohio Turnpike for the low low price of $14 2 years ago and they haven't failed me yet.

They look like the glasses most people I know wear. They are fine. I am sure I have a few pair just like them.
FWIW, I bought a pair of Tory Burch aviators that retail for $140 at a thrift store for a buck. They are such a piece of junk. I wouldnt shell out $10 for them. I bet your costco ones will last a long time.

But they've lasted me over 2 years now. Previously, I was buying $15 sunglasses every few months. As there are sunglasses out there for almost $400 (one search I did based on a pair I saw a FB friend and ALL her friends wearing), $60 ain't nothing.
They look totally fine. I buy cheap sunglasses because I lose them before they break. I bought a pair of MK and a pair of CK in recent years and lost them both within six months.

Mine were $160. They are Ray-Ban. I've had them for 3-4 years though and same with cheap ones I kept needing to replace them. I have prescription coach that would've been $700 without insurance. The frames alone were $140ish.
My mom keeps harping at me to get a pricey pair of non-prescription sunglasses. I have really sensitive eyes and it's hard to drive when it's really sunny out but I'm not sure how more expensive lenses would help that. SMH mom. [/quote]
Have you tried polarized lenses? They are so much better. Granted I don't have a pair right now, but dammit they are awesome.

My little sister is an optometrist and owns a fancy schmancy practice. And when she tells me that people drop $600-700 on sunglasses I die inside. Like, yay for her business, but I cannot imagine!
Huh. I have never lost or broken sunglasses before. Is this a having kids thing?
My last pair was probably 600 but they are prescription and paid for via flex plan. heh
No. I lost and/or broke every pair of sunglasses I've had since I began wearing them. I put them in my purse and they scratch. I accidentally brush them out of the car when I get out, then run over them. Drop them in the lake. Drop them in the river. Ear piece falls off. I sit on them and bend them. I've found a million ways to break sunglasses. I am not sure my kids have ever broke my sunglasses, which is surprising, because they break everything else.
Am I the only one that can't decide until I see them on your face?
Also I have spent an embarrassing amount of money on sunglasses. Including $200 foldable Ray Bans. LOOK AT WHAT IT DOES! AND THEN FITS IN THIS TINY BOX!
It's prevented me from breaking them in my purse, and I've had them for YEARS AND YEARS. I also bought an expensive pair of Tory Burch fun glasses....that I broke a couple years later in my purse. DAMMIT.

My folding Ray Bans are my very favorite! I love them so much!
