My sister is going to Japan for a year for work. She leaves at the end of the month. I want to get her a nice going away present. Any ideas? I'm ideally looking to spend between $150-$175 but it's fine if the price is a little over that and gets reduced via Ebates or some other promo code or something. Thanks for any help you can give. I feel like i need to order something soon and haven't found anything I like yet.

I lived in China and one of the best things I bought for myself was a nice cross body bag. Does she have one? They are awesome because they are great for super crowded cities, subways, awesome for traveling.
Slingbox. Hook it up to a television at your home so she can plug in and watch your TV whenever she wants through the internet. Most sites like Hulu, NBC, ABC, etc have an international block so you can't watch your favorite shows online and finding them posted illegally on the internet isn't always easy. Slingbox was my favorite thing EVER while we lived abroad. OK obviously the traveling and living abroad part was my favorite but Slingbox was a close second.
Send her a care package once she gets settled in. Collect her favorite food items that she can not get abroad. Funny how something as simple a your favorite potato chips taste Soooo much better when you are home sick.

This is kind of along the lines of what I was thinking. There are some foods that I would miss so much if I were living abroad.
