I'm looking for a gaming PC for my H. He currently has an Asus with an nVidia 760 graphics card. It's constantly overheating, shutting down, turning back on after being turned off, freezing up and crashing, and it's super loud. He does not want to build a new computer himself. He definitely doesn't want another Asus either.
Can anyone recommend a good gaming desktop that is not a Mac? What graphics cards are decent these days? I can go up to about $900. He plays Skyrim and similar.
Can he salvage anything from his old PC? It would help keep the cost down if he was willing to build one. It takes my H and I about a day to do it, and there are a lot of youtube videos to help. Idk if he just doesn't want the hassle or whatever
I actually ordered one that was on sale last week. It's a CyberPowerPC. I did some research on graphics cards, and this one has a GTX 970, which is probably fancier than he needs, but the price was right.
So far it has been working well, no problems, fast start-up, very crisp graphics. The Windows 10 is a big improvement over Windows 8. H is happy with it. The only thing is the CPU is kind of loud, but we got used to it.
He didn't feel like putting the time/research/effort into building, and I am not a techie person, so that's not really my thing.
