I usually have DD write a note or draw something for her teachers, then I contribute $ to the parent-organized stuff. Are the parents at your school getting together to do anything? Ours is having little treats and snacks delivered all week.
Our directors organize stuff for the teachers but also encourage parents to do something separately. That usually amounts to $25 gc somewhere per teacher. It really adds up, but I figure they see my kids more than I do, so....
Our pto sent a flyer- today was write a note to the teacher, Wednesday is write a note to the specials teachers, Friday is bring something for the classroom.

I'm wondering this too. We gave generous gift cards at Christmas. Do I need to do this too? Maybe just a cute card with our thanks that J can color or something.
I'd probably do a card and small gift for each one.
A s/o question - if your daycare has suggested things to do every day, do you do all of them, or just pick a couple? The things are all inexpensive, but it just seems like a hassle to do five different things.

I thought my daycare was alone in the daily thing. I think that is ridiculous. This is my first year though. I just put it all together in a gift bag and took it today. It was all about "sweet things." So they got some chocolates, Coldstone gift card, candle, and a painting from DD.
My daycare provider specifically wrote "Daycare provider appreciation day" on the calendar so I sort of feel obligated to do something, or I'll look like an ass. She is an in-home and has 4 "staff" members, so I need 5 gifts. I thought about doing a bottle of nail polish, fun nail file, maybe some candies.
My daycare had the same kind of message posted on the door this morning. There is no parent-organized deal. I suppose I might bring in donuts or something someday this week (with a card). I don't think I will do individual presents.
My older kids wrote a note, and I contributed to the PTA breakfasts. I'm not doing anything for the preschooler. We'll give a small token gift card at the EOY.
I'm room parent and we all brought stuff for a lunch for the teachers today. I also bought them flowers, a giant chocolate bar ( they both mentioned they love chocolate) and a B&N gift card from the money parents gave me at the beginning of the year.
No idea what/if DD will do anything yet on her own.
DD's daycare didn't say anything, but I have a $25 gift card for each of her 2 teachers that I will be bringing to pick up today. She only attends 1 day per week usually, but lately I've had a lot more project work and they have been so flexible with me adding days.
I need to do something... our daycare is organizing things each day but I suppose I need to do something monetarily. Her two current teachers just started with thir class in the last 60 days so I didnt give these two current teachers Christmas Gifts as those two teachers have left....(way too much turn over in her class, oddly not the other infant/toddler rooms)
Our daycare has a day-by-day thing. Today was flowers, tomorrow a snack, Wednesday a card, Thursday supplies for the classroom, Friday is a lunch potluck.
I love DS's daycare so I have zero problem with this. His classroom teachers are amazing so I will get them all the things.
H's reaction when he saw the flyer I took home? "These greedy jerks." So I get that it seems kind of absurd if you're not connected to the people involved.
Lol at "greedy jerks." Does he know how little daycare workers get paid?!
I don't do Teacher Appreciation Week but do get gift cards at the holidays and the end of the year. I think it's OK not to participate in this particular activity, but it would be nice to recognize them at some point during the year. Do what you feel comfortable with!

Ditto as to a card and small gift for each one. I usually do gift cards to Target, Panera, etc.
Our daycare gave us a flyer with suggested daily items. I'm just picking a couple of them, and only for the primary teachers. (I have 3 primary teachers and 3 assistants to buy for in total).
The suggestions we received: Monday - healthy snack Tuesday - a thank you note Wednesday - something sweet Thursday - a classroom supply Friday - something pampering
The director also asked parents to donate towards her plan to buy the entire staff breakfast and lunch.

Mine has this also. Today was write your favorite teacher a note day, tomorrow is bring sweets, Thursday is bring flowers, and Friday is a lunch potluck. I'll also try to participate every day because I love the teachers. But I'll admit my first thought was that it was a bit much.
