you gotta look good after, right?
aka, i bought myself this adorable robe to wear after deliver so when my boobs are gigantic and my undercarriage is wrecked, at least i'll have on something pretty
I thought the same thing. I had a cute gown to wear in the hospital and at home. I also have some nursing nightgowns that clip down in front that I wore throughout maternity leave, and still wear most nights.
I bought two pretty robes and some cute nightgowns and they were 100% worth it. Once I showered, blow dried my hair, and put on some makeup and my pretty new robe I felt 1000% better.

oh yes, this is DEFINITELY the plan. no family and friends rolling in with me looking a hot ass mess.

People kept on telling me that bringing a hair dryer and makeup was dumb and I wouldn't end up using either, WRONG. I used them and it made me feel like a human.
I did my hair before going to the hospital, so I knew it would last a couple days with dry shampoo. I definitely did my makeup at 7am in the middle of my labor, and pushed my baby out 2 hours later. Then showered and did makeup the next morning too. Wonderful.
I did have to laugh at the patient who did the full on curling iron, false eyelashes, JEANS AND HEELS, the day after her kid. Her first. NO. I'm all about not looking like a hot mess, but you're not going clubbing, girlfriend.
After having my first two, I changed into my robe, black sweatpants and a tank. It was heavenly. With my 3rd, I had to keep my epidural in for 24 hours, so I couldn't shower or change my clothes. It was terrible. I look at the pics and I am a mess. I just felt so blah. It's crazy what some cute bed clothes and a shower can do for a new mom. You picked out a very pretty robe!
TOTALLY agree with eerything everyone is saying! There is NOTHING as magical as the first shower after and putting something on that makes you feel like yourself. PERFECT choice girlfriend!!!
Make sure you have nice clothes too. I ended up not wearing my robe because I got showered and changed not long after having the baby. I kept the hospital gown on just until they removed my IV.
I love it. I managed to wear a maternity tube dress with a robe and I felt so much better than I probably would have if I wore the hospital stuff. I will say that I had a csection and was terrified about taking a shower and messing with the sutures. I don't think I took one until the day I left maybe? Wish I had. And wish I had my makeup bc I looked like absolute shit in the two pictures I have of me and ds. But having a shower and makeup would have made me feel so much better.
I ended up taking hospital newborn picture in my ugly cotton robe, I would have loved something like that! They came as I was in the middle of getting ready, damn right I was putting on makeup and doing my hair that morning!
Very nice! I brought a nice robe and night gowns for my hospital stay. Just keep in mind that something could get ruined by blood so you may not want to sit on it (just keep it behing your back when siting).

Same here! I sent my mom home to get by blow dryer and its amazing how much like a new woman I felt after a shower and makeup.

smart! i'll probably get a cheap pair of leggings or yoga pants for bottoms, and then a nursing tank and this....photos from the waist up ONLY, lol
